- All right, good afternoon, everybody.
I did it again, Sister Sherry.
When I get to church in the morning, I tell everybody good morning, and I guess the habit just, you have to follow along with me.
Good afternoon. - Good afternoon, brother John. (audience laughing) - All right, let me do this before we get going here.
Hello, everybody.
Good afternoon to y'all.
Here's our versions today if you want to look them over later on when you get time.
She's telling me to bring them in a little bit.
Now I'm getting thumbs up.
All right, there they are.
So hopefully that'll help for later on if I go a little too fast.
So there they are.
Hey, I seen me on that deal there.
That's pretty neat.
All right.
Once again, good afternoon everybody.
Good afternoon. - Okay, today what we're gonna do, we're gonna have a pretty long preface before we get into the main teaching today in the book of Jude.
But I feel that it's important that we get the background here and we know what we're gonna be facing here.
So it's a good thing to have a little bit of preface before we get into our main teaching.
Brother Aaron Rogers says, Adrian Rogers says that we're gonna have big front porch and a small house today.
So it's gonna take us a minute to get into the house, but we're gonna get in there eventually, God willing.
So let's pray, Heavenly Father, thank you God for another day, Lord.
Father, we're just so thankful, Lord, for each and every person that comes to hear your word, Father.
And I pray that your word goes forth in this room today, Father.
And I pray that the saints are edified and that the lost are afforded to you, Father.
Just use this body here, Lord, to share your word with others, Lord.
Just teach through them, Lord.
Let your spirit teach here today, Lord, and let the ears be open to your word, Father.
We sure thank you and love you so much, Father.
In Jesus' name we pray, amen. - Amen. - Amen. - All right, so I want to ask you a question today, and I want you to think about the answer in your mind, And I want you to be honest with yourself, okay?
If the Lord was to walk through that door right now, are you ready to hear what He is going to tell you?
Think about that.
If the Lord was to walk through that door right now and He came up to you, are you ready to hear what the Lord's gonna tell you?
This question is for you too, watching online.
If the Lord was to come to you today and ask you a question, are you ready to hear what he's gonna ask you?
Think about that.
This question, if the Lord was to come to you right now, what is he going to say to you?
What would you say to him?
Think about that.
God's word says in Romans 14 11, for it is written, as I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
What are you gonna confess?
Think about that.
When Adam and Eve went and hid from God after they sinned, and God called them out from their hiding place.
They had to account for what they did as individuals, even though they were playing the blame game.
Y'all remember when God called them out and they came out and God asked them, "What have you done?"
And Eve said, "Oh, the serpent, blah, blah, blah."
And Adam said, "Oh, the woman that you gave me, blah, blah, blah."
They were blaming, they were playing the blame game.
God judged them as individuals, and he is going to do the same with each and every one of us as well.
When your knees are bowed to the Lord and your tongue is given an account of your life, Are you going to play the blame game or are you going to say that your judgment has already been taken care of?
Very important question to ask yourself.
Are you going to say, "Well, I did my best and tried to be good."
If that is what you're going to stand on, dear friend, you might as well be standing on a leaf in a pit of quicksand because you're still going to be judged.
You are still going down into a pit.
You're going to continue to sink if you're standing on that leaf in that quicksand.
God's Word says in Romans 3, 12, "They are all gone out of the way.
They are together become unprofitable.
There is none that doeth good.
No, not one.
Those five words, gone out of the way, comes from the Greek word, eclekno, e-cle-no, e-clek-no, my Greek is terrible, e-clek-no, and it means to deviate, to shun or decline, avoid.
When you choose to be judged on your so-called good works, you are choosing to deviate from what God's Word says.
You are choosing to shun or decline and avoid the path that God has made for you and replace it with your own path.
And therefore, you are going to end up at the end of your path someday and not at the end of God's path.
I myself want to be on God's path and follow it all the way on to Him someday and not go in the opposite direction from Him.
The word good used here in Romans 3:12 deals with usefulness or moral excellence.
When I was a young man my mama used to tell have any morals.
My daddy used to say, "Boy," he used to call me boy, he'd say, "Boy, you know wrong from right."
They were both right.
The problem was that I just didn't care.
I didn't care.
If Christ was to walk through that door right now, there is no way I could stand on my good works.
No way.
James 2.10 says, "For whosoever shall keep the whole law and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all."
All.
During my lifetime, I have offended more than just one.
And God's Word says that I am guilty of all.
God's Word also says in to fire.
I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid.
I said I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord, and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin.
See lie, it says.
Take notice.
Pause.
Think about it.
Don't cover your sin, folks, with your good works.
Come to God and be honest with him and he will cover your sin with the blood of Christ.
Amen.
1 Peter 1 17 and we got y'all marked there.
1 Peter 1 17.
Look, there you got it.
What did you say?
1 Peter 1 17.
Right here.
What did you say to him?
I was telling - We're going with him. - Christ, yes. - We're going with him. - That's right, yes ma'am, I'm going with him.
That's right, Ms.
Lurks.
First Peter 117.
And if you call on the Father who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, what's your work, folks?
Are you trusting in your good works?
Or are you trusting in your faith in Christ?
past the time of your sojourning here in fear.
For as much as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ as of a lamb without blemish and without spot, who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last days.
For who?
For you.
For you.
Folks, I am part of you.
You are part of you.
Jesus Christ came to die for your sins.
He came to die for my sins.
He came to die for the world's sins.
He was manifested for the world's sins.
He came, he left his home on high, gave up that life that he had there, and he came down here to this old sinful earth to take your sins upon him so that you can be forgiven.
What a praise God, hallelujah, blessing that is.
But with the precious blood of Christ is the Lamb without blemish and without spot who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you.
Who by him do believe in God. that raised him up from the dead and gave him glory, that your faith and hope might be in God.
Seeing ye have purified your souls and obeying the truth through the spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently, being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible.
How?
By the Word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.
Forever.
If Christ was to come to you today at this moment, is He going to say, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant"?
The word "good" used here means "valuable".
Totally different good than the other good.
Are you a valuable servant of the Lord, or are you a servant of your good works?
You can't have it both ways.
And if you do not know Christ as your Savior, if He was to come to you right now for you Give an account of your life.
He would say to you, "I never knew you.
Depart from me, ye that were iniquity."
You need to get that settled while you still have time because look at our verse now in Jude, verse 14 and 15.
We're going to be in Jude 14 and 15.
This is where we picked up where we left off last week.
Book of Jude.
June. - Yes, ma'am. - Right there. - June 14th through 15th.
Everybody got it?
June.
June. - Okay. - 14th. - Yeah. - Okay. - You got it, Don?
Need some help? - Look at that. - Look at June. - Look. (coughing) Now that's a dead ass.
Look at those. - There we go, look at June.
It's gonna be the first 14. - Down there. - You got it, Miss Charlotte? - Yes. - I thought you did. - You read it? - No. - Book of Jude.
You need to get that set away.
You still have time because look at our verse.
Now in Jude, verse 14 through 15, we're gonna read part 15.
And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, "Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints."
Why?
Verse 15, "to execute judgment upon all."
Upon all.
This morning our pastor was talking about God pulls back the curtain just a little bit to let us see future events.
And I thought that was so cool when he was talking about that this morning because I said, "Hey, that's why they're talking "about Aaron and Jude.
"God's pulling the curtain back just a little bit here, folks, so you can see.
The Lord cometh with 10,000 of his saints to execute judgment upon all. - Amen. - Now, we'll hear a while back.
Do y'all remember what the word all meant?
All, that's right.
That's me, that's you, that's the people running up and down the highway right now in the vehicles.
That's the people sitting at home watching on the internet.
That's all.
He hasn't come back yet, folks, but he's going to.
It says the Lord cometh with 10,000 of his saints to execute judgment upon all.
Get that settled, folks.
If you don't know Christ as your Savior, you gotta do it while you still have time.
And you don't know what a day bringeth.
You don't know what this season is going to bring.
You don't know what tomorrow is going to bring.
You might have it tomorrow.
You might not have it tomorrow.
You can get it settled now where you can.
When the Lord comes back this time, folks, He is not coming back to be spit on and chastised and beaten and scorned, folks.
He is not coming back to try and convince people that He is the way, the truth, and the life, but to show people that everything He said is truth.
He is coming back to show us that He is the Lord of lords and King of kings.
The ungodly do not believe, therefore, they are of one mind.
They do not believe in a risen Savior who died on the cross for their sins.
They are without God, ungodly.
Those that believe God are of one mind.
They agree with God.
They have put their faith in the one who God said to believe in, and in as payment for their sins.
Those that believe God, those that believe are godly.
Folks, I have to read this book.
No, I have read this book and I'm going to tell you right now that no matter whose side you're on the ungodly or the godly Christ is going to win in the end and It is of my opinion or my thinking that is far better to be on the side that wins Then on the side who gets banished for an eternity apart from God in a fire of torment and pain and suffering for an eternity.
And eternity is a long time folks.
That's forever.
Revelation 17 3 says these have one mind and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
Now this is referring to the ten ungodly kings in the previous verse.
If you are ungodly, you are following an ungodly king and you are thinking the same ungodly way that they are.
Revelation 17, 14.
"Thee shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them."
That's right, brother.
For He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and they that are with Him are called and chosen and faithful.
Are you with God or not?
Are you godly or ungodly?
If you have believed God, your name is written down in the book of life.
If you have not believed God, your name is not, and you will spend eternity in the lake of fire.
Revelation 20, 15 says, "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."
The Lord will judge all in the end, folks.
If you already know this, praise God.
If you didn't know this, I hope this is the best spoiler alert that you have ever received.
And you will turn to Christ and not only be saved from your sins, but from the wrath to come.
When Christ returns, every knee will bow and tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
Philippians 2.9.
And I've got y'all marked on that.
Marked at Philippians 2.9.
Philippians 2 and 9.
2.9.
Y'all got it, Don?
Got it.
Good, good, good.
Philippians 2.9.
"Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth."
Philippians 2.11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.
If Jesus was to walk through that door right now folks, would you confess that Jesus Christ is Lord or would you deny that?
Now remember, the Lord cometh with ten execute judgment upon all.
If you're not saved folks, please think about that.
It's coming.
Jesus Christ is coming.
Heavenly Father, thank you so much Lord for your precious word, Lord.
What excitement it is, Lord.
What truth it is, Lord.
What a blessing your word is, Father.
Thank you for pulling the curtain back for us, Lord, and showing us a little bit of that future, Father.
Thank you so much, Lord.
Lord, we want to pray, Lord, that you'll help us stay the path that you want us on, Lord.
Help us to stay your path, Father, so we don't wander off into a pit of quicksand, Lord, and stand on a leaf.
Help us to stay in your path that goes your way towards your home, Father.
We thank you so much, Lord, for Jesus, Lord.
Thank you for Christ, Lord.
We thank you that he didn't come down off that cross, Lord, but he took our sins upon himself, Lord, and died for us in order that we might be forgiven, Lord.
Lord, we just pray for those that don't know Christ, Father.
We pray today, Lord, that the saints will edify and that the laws will be appointed to you.
Lord, will I pray for those, Lord, who couldn't attend here today, Lord, because they're not well, Father.
We pray, Lord, that you would just be with them, Father, and let them know you're there.
We want to pray for John and Don and their healing, Lord, according to your will.
Pray for those here today that are recovering from surgeries, Lord.
And we want to pray for the caregivers that are here today, Lord.
They will just help care for these folks the way you want them to be cared for, the way you would care for them, Lord.
Help them to care for these people here, Lord.
And we're so thankful, Lord, for those that come, Lord, to hear you, to work, to help.
What an encourager they are, Lord, and a blessing, Father.
Thank you so much, Lord, for all that you do, for all you do is good, Father.
We ask you to say today, these things today in Jesus name, Lord, amen.
