Alright, hello everybody. Welcome to you, sir. It's good to see you. You too, man. It's good to have people come back and good to see people coming for the first time We've got people that's been in here just about since I started, so it's it's a blessing to be here with y'all and I sure will enjoy it, believe me Alright, so if you're here for the first time, what we do, we go verse by verse. We get into a book and we just go verse by verse until we get out of that book So, and last week with that said, last week we left off in the book of Jude in verse 20, and we were discussing the Holy Ghost. God's Spirit that dwells within us upon receiving the knowledge of the gospel of Christ. That is hearing it and receiving it. You can hear it and you can deny it. That's not receiving. Hearing and receiving, believing is when God will send his spirit to live with your spirit. Now the word gospel means good news. Now folks, if you don't believe it, it's not good news. It's only good news if you believe it. If you receive it, it's good news. The word gospel means good news, and I have yet to meet anyone who has believed in Christ as their Savior I have yet to meet anyone tell me that it's anything other than good news. Every individual that I have ever taught ever talked to that has believed in Christ as their Savior has always told me it was good news. I've never heard a negative word about the gospel from people who have believed. And there is nothing negative you can say about it, Mike. Now verse 20 in the book of Jude, that's where we left off last week, and it says, But ye beloved. Building up yourselves on your most holy faith. Praying in the Holy Ghost. Let's pray. Heavenly Father, we thank you so much, Lord, for each and every person. That's come here today to hear your word, Father. And we pray, Lord, that you'll just teach us here today, Lord. Teach those who have ears to hear, Father, and turn the hardened hearts to you, Lord. Lord, I pray that you would just soften the hearts, Lord, and that they would hear today, Father. That they would seek you, Lord, and that you would show Christ here today. We thank you and we love you so much and thank you for your word, Father. Thank you for your Holy Spirit and thank you for Christ. In Jesus' name we pray today, Lord, amen. Amen Okay, so we've been talking about the Holy Ghost. I want to talk a little bit more about the Holy Ghost, and towards the end of this lesson, we're God willing, we're going to go ahead and jump on into verse 21. So just a little bit more about the Holy Ghost. And what we're doing here, folks, is not an extensive finished study. I would encourage each and every one of you get in get into the back of your Bibles. Look in the accordance. Find the words Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost. Look up all the verses that you can in your Bible and study it further. Study it out further, folks. I just I want God to teach you so bad, and I want you to learn so bad, but only God can teach you, and only you can hear. So I pray that you'll hear God's words today, folks. Now, when Jesus confronted the woman at the well in Samaria, now if you don't know the story, I encourage you to read it. And you can find it in the book of John in chapter 4. Jesus was traveling with his disciples. He was thirsty. He was tired. He was in his fleshly body. And folks, he just like each and every one of us. He got tired. He got thirsty. And he was traveling through Samaria. his disciples and they needed something to eat and Jesus' disciples left him and they went on to try to find something to eat and we're going to come back to him. Well Jesus came upon a well and there was a woman at this well And she was there by herself. None of the other people wanted to have nothing to do with her. She was considered a lowlife by all the other people. The other women didn't want to talk to her. She's been married like five different times. And she was going through some hard times there. And she had to come out during the day in the heat of the sun to go get water because the other people didn't want her around her. So she was here at this well to draw some water. And Jesus wasn't no accident, folks, that he came across her. Like I've always told you, if there's at least one person here, we're going to have church. Jesus taught thousands, and Jesus would take the time to teach one individual. individual at a time. So if there's at least one person here we're going to do like Jesus did and we're going to have church. So always remember that and we have done that before. We've had only one person come and we've still had church. And God will we're going to continue to do that. Now, I would encourage y'all to go and read the story of the Samaritan woman. Oh, it's a wonderful story. And there's several verses that go with it, but the verses that we want to stay focused on today. When Jesus was talking with this woman He told her in four verse in chapter in John chapter 4 verse 22 through 26 he said Ye worship, ye know not what. We know what we worship for salvation is of the Jews. Without faith in Christ, folks, ye worship, ye know not what. But the hour cometh and now is when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit. And in truth, that's right, dear brother. For the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a spirit, and that's a capital S spirit, and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. Without the Holy Spirit, without the Holy Ghost residing in you, when you pray, it's falling on death ears, folks. The only prayer that God is going to hear from you without the Holy Ghost is a prayer of repentance. Letting God know that you know that you're a sinner. And that you're coming to him for forgiveness. That is a prayer that God will hear, I promise. Because he heard by me. And he'll hear it from you too. The woman saith unto him, I know that Messiah is coming. That is the Messiah, which is called Christ. When he is come, he will tell us all things. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am He. When you have the Holy Spirit of God dwelling in you, when you put your faith in Christ, God sends his Spirit to dwell within you, and I can't say that enough. When God puts his Spirit within you, He starts teaching you. He starts showing you things. And it's just amazing how once before I could read parts of Scripture. And it showed me something, but when I go back and I've read it now since I've been saved, I see something totally. It's more spiritual now when I read it than it was before. Now it's spiritual. And without the Holy Ghost of God dwelling in you, you're not going to get that spiritual meaning that God wants you to have. He wants the Holy Spirit to dwell within you. folks. He wants you to know him as your Savior. 2 Corinthians 3. 17, now the Lord is that Spirit. And where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. Liberty means freedom. Don't you want freedom from your sins? Forgiveness is freedom. Forgiveness is freedom. And I'm going to say it again, and y'all heard me say it a bunch of times. There is no joy like salvation. By forgiving all your sins are forgiven. There's no joy like that. The night I was saved, I did a big woo-hoo and jumped up in the air, and that's a true story Just knowing that my sins have been forgiven with such a weight off of me. And it can be a weight off of you too to know that you're going to go and be with the Lord when you leave this old body, folks. Oh, it's just such a blessing to know that. The Holy Spirit of God is Christ living within you. And without faith in Christ. Why would he come and live somewhere he is not wanted? If you have not trusted in Jesus as your Savior, why would God send his Spirit to live within you if you're not wanting forgiveness? If you're not believing that Christ died for your sins, why would God's Spirit want to live somewhere he's not welcome? Amen. Only God can see what is on the inside, folks. When God looks at you, does he see Christ dwelling within you? Does he see his spirit? Don't think there's any place you can hide where God cannot see you. God knows where you're at. He knows what you're doing He knows when you want to know Christ as your Savior. In 1 Samuel 16, 6 It says, and it came to pass when they were come that he looked on Eliab and said, Surely the Lord's anointed is before him. This is Samuel looking at him on the outside scene saying, hey, surely this is the Lord's anointed that's standing before me But the Lord said unto Samuel, look not on his countenance or on the height of his stature, because I have refused him, for the Lord seeth not as man seeth, for man looketh on the outward appearance. But the Lord looketh on the heart. That word countenance means the appearance. Samuel was looking at him and seeing what was on the outside. Samuel was looking at him, seeing how statured he was, how wealthy and how prosperous and all that he was. God said, that's not what it's about, folks. That's not what it's all about. Only God can see if his spirit dwells within you. I can look at the camera lady and see the Holy Spirit. Oh, I cannot look at the camera lady and see the Holy Spirit dwelling inside her. I can't see it. But by her confession of Christ as her Savior, she can be sure that she is saved. And that's God's Spirit dwelling within her, reassuring her that she is saved. I asked her out there in a car a while ago, I said, baby, how do you know you're saved? She said, because Jesus died for my sins. Folks, that's not just her saying that. That is the Holy Spirit dwelling within her, letting her know that. That is God's Spirit telling her that. It's just amazing. 1 John 4, 2. And I believe I've got y'all marked in these. Yeah, you're already there. Yep, 1 John. I got you marked on it. We're gonna read these here. Yep, you already got it Now we got several verses to go through here, folks. This is kind of a twofold reason. One of the reasons is it's because it's God's word. Another reason is this might be the only God, the only words from God's word that somebody might get this with. So we got several verses we want to cover. So just hang in there with me. This gentleman right here just told me he has problems seeing And as I've told them before, sir, I'm gonna let you know you wasn't here when I told them last time. If you want to read some of your Bible and you're having problems seeing it, ask one of the caregivers that come in or one of your uh friends that come to visit. Say, would you mind reading a couple of verses here from God's Word? You're not only sharing God's Word with them, they're sharing it back with you. That's encouraging both ways right there, and that's a blessing. That's just one way to share the word, you know. So that's why you can hear it. But what we want to do, we're going to read quite a few verses here. And like I said, that's a twofold reason. So here we go. 1 John 4, 2. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God. Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God. The camera lady couldn't have told me that while ago if God's spirit was not dwelling within her. Ha ha! Jesus came in the flesh. He gave his life for you. He died on a cross, bearing your sin death for you, paying the penalty for you. He'd come off that cross dead. He was placed in a tomb and on the third day the Father rose him up again. That is the gospel of Christ. Only the Spirit of God can tell you that, folks. Now I can be a hundred percent of one thing right here. John 4, 3. Every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of Antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come and even now already is in the word, in the world. The word antichrist means against Christ. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is He that is in you Then he that is in the Word, in the world. The Holy Spirit that dwells within you is greater. It's been the prince of the power of the air. Amen. That's the devil. The Holy Spirit is greater. Praise God. They are of the word. Of the world. I don't like he spoke today. They are of the world. Therefore speak they of the world. And the world heareth them. I was just talking with the Miss Works back here a while ago about preachers. on TV and she was asking me about do you watch this preacher or do you watch that preacher and I told her I don't watch uh very many preachers on TV. You know why The majority of them will not open this book right here and preach out of it. They want to sit there and tell you everything except Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins. If you're watching a preacher on TV and he doesn't have this book open teaching you out of this book, I would be really weary of him. If he's wanting to tell you how you can be saved by sending him some money, I would turn the channel off. Get out of it. Don't listen to that. Sow your seed with me, he'll say. Send me some money. Don't listen to that. That is of the world. They are of the world. Therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. Don't listen to that stuff, folks. We are of God. He that knoweth God heareth us. He that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the Spirit of truth. And the spirit of error. Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God. And everyone that loveth is born of God and knoweth God. I heard dear brother here last week. People in the way he was telling me love them. I love y'all. I love you. I'm going, oh, that's fantastic. Love you, Miss Warks. Miss Warps is a very special lady to me Herein is love. He that loveth not knoweth not God, for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we love God, but that he loved us and sent his son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. We love God. Because God loved us first. He loved us so much that he sent his only begotten Son to die for you. He sent him to die for the sins of the world. That is love. We are not born knowing love to God, but through faith in Christ, we are taught the love of God. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us. And his love is perfected in us. Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us. Why? Because he hath given us of his spirit. And that is a capital S spirit. And we have seen and do testify the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. Have you believed and known the love that God has to us? I have. Woo! God is love, and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness. in the day of judgment, because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love. Folks, are you fearing the judgment? Are you afraid of the judgment that's gonna come? If you are, then you don't know my Christ. My Christ is the reassurance that I am not going to be judged by God. I am not going to stand before the great white throne of judgment. But I'm going to hear, well done, thou good and faithful servant. Woo! Because my faith is in the one who died for me. But perfect love casteth out fear, because fear hath torment. If you don't know where you're gonna go when you're gonna die, folks, you're in torment. You're in torment. You may say, oh no, I'm just fine, Brother Doug. I'm alright. Well, I hope God takes me. Well, I hope my good outweighed my bad. Oh well God now we got this thing worked out. You're in torment because you are not a hundred percent sure that you're gonna go and be with the Lord. When you leave this old body. And if you're thinking this old body's gonna last forever, I got some bad news for you because it's not. But I got some good news for you that through Jesus Christ your sins are forgiven and there is a heaven waiting for you to be with the Lord. Amen. When this old body leaves We love him because he first loved us. If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, He is a liar. For he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, that he who loveth God love his brother also. Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God. And everyone that loveth him that beget Loveth him also that is begotten of him. By this we know that we love the children of God. When we love God and keep his commandments. Now I know what you're thinking. Brother Doug, I can't keep all God's commandments. In the flesh we cannot keep God's commandments For this is the love of God that we keep his commandments, and his commandments are not grievous. Folks, if you're here today And you can sit there and tell me that you can keep all of God's commandments. I'd like to shake your hands because you're perfect. You're a perfect person. It's impossible. You cannot keep all of God's commandments. But Brother Doug, it says, for this is the love of God that we keep his commandments, and his commandments not grievous. He says, by this we know that we love the children of God when we love God and keep his commandments. So how are you going to keep all of God's commandments? For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world. And this is the victory that overcometh the world. How are you going to keep the commandments? You're going to put your faith in the one who did. He says, even our faith. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world. And this is the victory that overcometh the world. Even our faith. Faith, folks. Faith in the one who died for your sins. Faith in the one who kept all of God's commandments. Faith in the one who led the perfect life that we cannot. Who is he that overcometh the world? But he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God Keep yourselves, oh I'm sorry. Back to Jude, we're going to start 121, Jude 121. Keep yourselves in the love of God, is what Jude says. Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. Do you want to keep yourself in the love of God? Yeah. Keep his commandments is what he just told us. What he just told us. He said, by this we know that we love the children of God when we love God and keep his commandments. Amen The only way you can keep his commandments is by believing in the one who did. And that was God's Son, who he sent to fulfill each and every one of them in your place. And take the punishment that we so rightly deserve for not keeping them. The wages of sin is death, and Christ received those wages in your place. in order that you could receive the wages of righteousness, the just for the unjust, but you must believe that in order to receive forgiveness. Christ is the love of God to each and every one of us. Now, I don't want to just stop right there before we close. I want to say something else real quick. By doing, it says here, keep yourselves in the love of God. I want to tell you something. Once you're saved, you're saved. Don't think that just because you mess up, God's gonna, well, I'm done with them. They messed up, I'm done. That's not how it works. My mom and dad loved me very much. When I was a knothead kid I messed up so many times. You can lose. You can't count on fingers and toes how many times I disobeyed my mom and dad. I messed up Done stuff I shouldn't have been doing. As I got older, the things I was doing was worse. But you know what? Throughout all the mess ups My mom and dad never quit loving me. They never gave up on me I thank God for that. God is the same way, folks. Don't think just because you messed up, God stopped loving you. God never stops loving you. Amen. God loves you. Don't think you've done something so Rotten, so terrible and bad that you cannot be forgiven. That is a lie straight from hell You can be forgiven. If you want to be forgiven, you can still be forgiven. As long as your want tour isn't broke, your want tour can be fixed. You can be forgiven if you want to. If you still have a want to, to get forgiven, to be forgiven, you can be. Don't think you can't be. Please. Once you're saved, and we're going to talk about this some more next week. But I want to leave you on a positive note. Once you're saved, you're always saved. That's not taken away from you if you make a mistake. So please don't think you've done something told so terribly wrong that you can't be forgiven for. You can be. The just for the unjust. We are the unjust. We are the undeserved. We do not deserve it. God loved us so much though that he kneeled down and he gave But you've got to receive. You've got to receive it if you want it. And if you have a want-to in you, you can still receive it. Christ is the love of God to each and every one of us. Now God willing, we will pick back up here in verse 21 next week Let's close in prayer. Heavenly Father, we thank you so much, Lord, for this lesson that you blessed us with, Lord. And I pray, Lord, that you taught them here today, Father. I pray, Lord, that they heard, that the ones who had ears to hear heard, Lord, and that they were pricked in their hearts, Lord, and that you will draw to the cross and that they'll heed the draw, Lord. The ones that don't know Christ, Father, I pray that they'll come to the cross and you'll show them Christ, Lord. Lord, for those who do know Christ, Father, we pray that they'll continue to share Christ with others. Continue to edify others, Lord. And we pray that they were edified here today, Father. We thank you so much, Lord, for your Holy Spirit. We thank you so much, Lord, for Jesus who died for our sins. And we sure thank you for your precious word, Lord, that you've blessed us with, Father. And we pray that the folks who can read it will read it, Lord. And we pray for the ones who can't read it, Lord, that you would send somebody to help them read it, Lord. Thank you so much, Father. We're going to pray for the caregivers that are here, Lord, that they would care for these people, Lord, the way you want to be taken care of. We want to thank you for Brother Ray and his wife coming and for each and every person that's come here today, Lord. We pray that you'll bless each and every one of them. Thank you for the camera lady coming, Lord, and helping Lord. It's just such a blessing, Father, to have people help. Thank you, Lord, for all that you do, Father, for all that you do is good. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
