So hello, everybody. So here we go. We're fixing to get back into God's word here. All right, we're gonna be in the book of Jude and we're on verse 14. Jude verse 14. - What page, Jude? - Well, Jude is gonna be right before Revelation. So Revelation's at the very back of your book. If you're right before Revelation, you should have Jude. Look at this, Charlie got it. - I got it. - Bill's got it. We'll all get there. - On my tablet. Well, whatever works for you, Bill. As long as you got your eyes on God's Word, we're good. - Oh, I've been, what am I, can you hear me? See what it says, J-E-D? - She looked at you, Evan, and it said John. It says John. That's why I didn't understand how to go to bed. 'Cause I'm, why am I seeing John? It says Jesus. Jesus. - We're gonna go to verse 14? - 14, I can't let you see. - You're welcome, sir. All right, so, everybody in the book of Jude? Verse 14. And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these saying, "Behold, the Lord cometh with 10,000 of his saints." Let's pray. Heavenly Father, we thank you so much, Lord, for another day that you've blessed us with, Father. And we thank you so much, Lord, for those who've come to hear your word, Lord. Such encouragement, Lord, and we surely thank you, Lord, for those you put in our lives to encourage us, Father. Now, as we get into your word, Lord, we just pray that your spirit will teach through me, Lord, and that the ears will be open to your word today, Father. Just, Lord, let your spirit teach today, Father. We thank you, Lord, and we love you so much, Father. In Jesus' name we pray, amen. All right. So last week we learned that Enoch was a sinner just like you and I, but Enoch walked with God. He was a forgiven sinner as we read in Genesis 5.24 which said, "And Enoch walked with God and he was not, for God took him." Now real quickly before we get on into this, some of y'all might be wondering, "Well, why did Enoch not die? Why did God just take him and he did not die?" God has a special plan for each and every one of us. God has a special plan for Bill, He has a special plan for this gentlemen back here, He has a special plan for Mrs. Charlotte, He has a special plan for each and every person that is here. Believe it or not God has a special plan for me as well. God has a special plan for Enoch. And Enoch's plan is different than our plan. God took Enoch to fulfill a special plan that God has planned for Enoch. So, Enoch walked with God and he was not, for God took him. God took him for his specific plan that he has for Enoch. Now I remember back, before I was forgiven of my sins, I did not care anything about walking with God. I was just fine staying in the darkness of my sin, running from God, running from God, just like Adam and Eve did in the Garden of Eden after they sinned against God. They knew they messed up and all they wanted to do was hide from God, just like me before Genesis 3.8 says, speaking of Adam and Eve, "And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day. And Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden. They disobeyed God and tried to hide from them, from him. Now remember God had told them, every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat, except for the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and the tree of life. God told them not to eat of either one of those trees. Well, the devil came along, and got that whispering going on, whispering in their ear, speaking stuff to them. He said it loudly enough to where they could hear it, but I'm just using the whispering as a, that's what happens to us, I don't go and get the whispering in our ears. But the devil talked to Eve, he was a smooth-tongued guy, he was real smooth-tongued, and he told Eve that they would not, he basically told Eve that what God said, don't pay attention to that, is what he basically come across as saying. The devil was basically saying, I know better than God does. Well, Eve fell for it. She believed the devil over God, so she took of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and she ate of it, and she took to her husband, and he did eat as well. Now, after they ate of the tree, their eyes were opened. They knew good from evil. They knew good and evil. And when they realized that they had made a mistake, they ran from God. They ran and hid. They may have been hoping, after they went and hid, they may have been hoping that if we can run away from God, then our mistake will just go away and God will never know. John 3.20 says, "For everyone that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved." Just like Adam and Eve, I did not want my deeds to be reprieved. I did not want God to know about the things I had done. Folks, God already knows. God already knows everything we have done and everything we will do. Sin must be judged, folks. God cannot and will not let sin go unpunished. it must be dealt with. Genesis 3.9 says, "And the Lord God called unto Adam and said unto him, 'Where art thou?'" 3.10 says, "And he said, 'I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself.'" God not only called out to Adam, folks, but I thank God he called out to me as well. And if you are trying to hide from God, he is calling out to you too and asking you, where art thou? Adam said he was afraid because he was naked, but when he answered God back, man, this is so wonderful, When he answered God back, God forgave and clothed him just like he did me. And just like he will do for you as well. First John 1-9 says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Let me get this over. Adam and Eve's sin had to be dealt with just like mine and just like yours. God shed the blood of innocent animals. For the wages of sin is death, the Bible says. and used the skins from those innocent animals to clothe them. Those innocent animals gave their life in order that Adam and Eve may live. Genesis 3.21, "Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins and clothe them." That innocent animal had to give his life in order for them to be clothed. Jesus Christ was innocent, folks. He shed His blood and gave His righteous life in order that you may be cleansed of all unrighteousness and clothed in the forgiveness that only God can give through belief in the death of Christ on the cross for you. Enoch believed and he walked with God. Please, if you are trying to hide from God, come out, come out wherever you are, and stop playing hide and seek with God. I am so grateful that I did. Don't ignore God, folks. Our verse says back in Jude 14, "And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam." I believe this means the seventh generation from Adam, because if we were to trace the genealogy from Adam and count seven different dads, we come to Enoch's generation. If you would like to trace Enoch's family tree, You can read about that in the book of Genesis chapter 5 verses 1 through 32. And I wrote it on your papers there if you all would like to read about that later. Now the word prophesied. Our verse back in Jude goes on to say prophesied of these. The word prophesied comes from the Greek word prophatio, prophatio, and is spelled P-R-O-P-H-I-E-D. P-H-E-T-E-U-O in the Greek, and means to foretell events, divine, speak under inspiration. Enoch spoke by the inspiration of God foretelling things that will happen. And in specific he spoke of, let's look back in our text in Jude 14. Jude says, "And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam prophesied, or you could say foretold the things by the inspiration of God, of these. Now who or what are these? Who and what has Jude been warning the brethren about? Do you all remember? The ungodly. Jude has been warning us about the ungodly. And we're going to learn about what Enoch prophesied about them, God willing, next week. Now before we close, last week I stood up here before you and before God and I apologized for my mistakes that I had made the previous week. I want to let you know that while I know that I had made the mistakes and I could not apologize to you, it ate me up on the inside. I knew that I had done wrong and to make it even worse, that old devil started telling me that I should just give up and quit preaching because I'd just mess it all up. That weight upon me was very heavy. But you know what? When I stood up before you and apologized for my mistakes, that weight fell from me and my burden was laid down and if the camera lady was here, she could tell you that I was a changed man that day going home. I was carrying a burden that only an apology could take away. Now I could have been like Adam and Eve and I could have ran and I could have hid and I could have not said nothing about it. But you know what? God knew I was going to make that mistake. God already knew I was going to make mistakes. And God knew that I was going to apologize for them. When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, they had a burden on them knowing that they messed up and disobeyed God. They ran and hid, but that did not take away their burden. They sowed fig leaves together, but that did not take away their burden. What is such a blessing here, folks, is that God knew that they sinned. God already knew. God knew that they were ashamed, and yet God still called out for them. God still called out for them. God still wanted them even though they had made a mess of things. Adam and Eve listened to God and they came to Him and God made a way for them to be forgiven. If you have not been forgiven for your sins, God is calling you to come to Him and lay down your burden, folks. will forgive you if you will just believe in the way that God has made for you to be forgiven. And that way is by believing in the death of his beloved Son on the cross for you. The just for the unjust. First Peter 3.18 says, "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins." The just for the unjust. that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit." Folks, if you want to lay your burden down, and you might be thinking, "Oh, I'm okay." Deep down inside of you, you know you're not. You know that you need to be forgiven. And the only way that you're gonna lay that burden down and get forgiven is if you listen to God and you come to God and you believe in his son. Heavenly Father, we thank you, Lord, for this wonderful day that you blessed us with, Lord. We come together, Lord, to share your word, Father. And Lord, we pray, Lord, for those who couldn't make it today, Father. I wanna pray, Lord, that your will be done in their lives, Lord, and we pray your will be done in our lives here in this room today, Father. Lord, we wanna pray for the caregivers here, Lord, and pray, Lord, that they'll just take care of these people the way you want them to be taken care of, Father. Lord, we pray, Lord, that you just help us to stay the path that you want us to be on, Lord. And Lord, I want to tell you so much, Lord, thank you so, so much for those that you put in our lives to encourage us, Father. And I pray, Lord, that we can be an encouragement to others, Father. We thank you so much for Jesus, Lord. Oh, Lord, what a blessing to know Jesus, Lord. And we pray for those, Lord, who don't know Christ as their Savior, and they're still toting that burden around on them, Lord. Father, we pray, Lord, that you draw them to the cross Show them that they can lay that burden down there, Father, through faith in your son, Jesus. We thank you and we love you, Lord. And in his name, Lord, we pray, amen.
