Episode Transcript
Alright, good afternoon everybody.
Good afternoon, sure.
Glad to be back.
Uh So I was thinking since we skipped the last week, we're going to do just a little recap right quick to get us caught up to where we were today from when we left off.
So we'll backtrack just a little bit and we'll get us to where we left off from the week before that we were here.
That way it still stays in our minds and we're still kind of fresh at it.
We don't forget so far what's been taught, hopefully.
I know I do sometimes.
That's a good reason to go back and study your Bible and keep reading over and over.
That way we don't forget what we've learned.
So good afternoon everyone.
That's what my notes say, so that's why I'm gonna go ahead and stay on my notes best I can Now we have been going through the book of Jude, and the last time we were here, we left off in verse 21 in the book of Jude.
But like I said, we're going to just do some previous verses and get back updated.
Now in the previous verses, Jude has been warning us about false teachers.
Throughout the whole book of Jude, we've been learning about false teachers.
And he's been warning us about false teachers who walk after their own ungodly lusts and choose not to believe God.
Let's pray.
Heavenly Father.
Thank you so much, Lord, for each and every person that's come to hear your word, Father.
And we just thank you for each and every blessing that you bestow upon us.
We thank you for Jesus.
We thank you for your Holy Spirit.
And we thank you for your word, Lord.
We pray, Lord, that your Spirit will just teach us here today, Lord.
And we just pray that the saints will be edified, Lord, and that the lost are appointed to you, and that you are glorified today with this lesson, Lord.
We thank you and love you so much, Lord.
In Jesus' name we pray.
Amen.
Amen.
Amen.
Now, in the previous verses, Jude has been warning us about false teachers.
Who walk after their own ungodly lust and choose not to believe God They choose to separate themselves from believing that Christ died for their sins, paying their sin debt in full.
A debt that only a sinless substitute could pay.
Jesus said in Matthew 14, 16 through 7.
A.
That's a little A.
We're just going to use the beginning of 7.
Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No man cometh unto the father but by me.
If ye had known me, ye should have known my father also.
These false teachers that Jude has been warning us about refuse to know Christ as their Savior.
Therefore, they do not know God as their father, separating themselves from the Holy Spirit of God.
Verse 19 in Jude says, These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
You can choose to stay separated from the forgiveness of God by denying the gospel of Christ and die.
And at the judgment, you will be separated for the rest of eternity.
No longer given the opportunity to accept the forgiveness of God and incurring the wrath of God instead.
John 3. 36 says, He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life.
And he that believeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath. of God abideth on him.
The word wrath gives us the idea of punishment or anger.
I do not want God to be angry with me.
And when I die, I definitely do not want the punishment that comes from not believing God.
I am so thankful that God has opened my eyes to see just how much he loves us through the death of his son and how we can be saved from his wrath.
Romans 5. 8 says, but God commendeth his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
The word commendeth, gives us the idea of to exhibit.
I'm not sure about other states.
Especially up north and west.
But here in Texas, we like to have what we call gun exhibitions When you go to a gun exhibition here in Texas, guess what you see?
Guns I guarantee you the camera lady does not want to go to a gun exhibition to look at blueprints for a new shot for her preacher husband.
She wants to look at guns.
And that is what you are going to see when you go to a gun exhibition here in Texas.
Now it doesn't matter what state you're in, folks, or even what part of the world, when you look at that wooden cross with God's dear son nailed to it Suffering in agony and misery, dying for your sins in order that you can be forgiven.
That is God putting his love for you on exhibition for all to see.
Paul goes on to say in the book of Romans, chapter 5, verse 9, much more than being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved. from wrath through him.
Do you want to be saved from the wrath of God?
If you have not been forgiven for your sins, you are still facing the wrath of God because you are still an enemy of God.
Through faith in Christ we are forgiven and no longer enemies.
Romans 5. 10, for if.
When we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his son.
Much more being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
The word enemies used here means adversary.
You know who is called an adversary in God's word?
The devil.
The devil.
1 Peter 5. 8 says, be sober, be vigilant, because you're Adversary, the devil, as a roaring lion walketh about seeking whom he may devour.
If you have not been forgiven for your sins.
You are an enemy of God.
And when judgment day comes, you will suffer the judgment of a righteous judge.
And be sentenced to spend eternity with all the other enemies of God in a lake of fire.
Revelation 20:15, and whosoever was not found written in the book of life. was cast into the lake of fire.
It does not have to end that way if you don't want it to For these mockers of God that Jude has been warning us about, it's too late for them.
We do not get a second chance to repent After life goes out of this body.
But praise God, we do get one.
And if you want to take advantage of it, you have to do it now while you still can.
Paul said back in Romans verse 5. 10, for if when we were enemies We were reconciled to God by the death of his son, much more being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
Were enemies used to be Each and every one of us are born enemies of God.
The only one who wasn't was his dear precious son born of a virgin womb.
And the only way to remove that enemy classification and get your were enemy status is to be reconciled to God.
That means to change mutually.
Both agree on the same thing.
Matthew 5. 25 says, Jesus says this, agree with thine adversary quickly. whilst thou art in the way with him, lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge.
And the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
Those are the words of Christ.
God's dear son who gave his life for you so you can be forgiven of your sins and through faith in his death for you are reconciled to God.
Both agree on the same thing.
God is not going to change his mind and there is no reason why he should.
You, dear friend, if you are disagreeing with God, it is my duty to tell you that you are in the wrong.
You are going to die someday and your soul will spend eternity in pain and suffering.
You might say, well, who are you to tell me that?
I am somebody just like you.
As a matter of fact, I may be someone who has done more bad things and committed more sins than anyone here today.
But I am forgiven for everything.
Amen.
I have agreed with God that I have sinned, and He has shown me the forgiveness that only He can give.
I have been reconciled to God, and now that I know it's my duty to tell others that there is forgiveness found through the cross of Christ, just waiting for you to believe it.
Through the gospel of Christ you can be forgiven and reconciled to God.
You want to know who I am?
I am A born-again child of God, redeemed from the grasp of the adversary, Satan.
Bought and paid for by the shed blood of Jesus Christ who suffered an unimaginable, painful, and horrific death on a wooden cross because of my sins.
I am a believer.
That's who I am.
And if you're one too, Jude says in verse 20 through 21, but ye beloved.
Building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.
Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
That is where we left off before the ice storm.
And God willing we will pick up here next week.
I want to close today with 1 Peter chapter 1, 3 through 9, and I got y'all marked.
But before we go there, folks, I want to say if you are a believer in Christ.
And you know Jesus Christ is your Savior.
It is your duty as well to tell others.
When I first got saved, I said, woo, all right, thank you, Lord, I'm saved.
I got mine good.
Oh, I was so happy and thankful.
But you know, the longer I've lived as a Christian, the more I have found that it's my job to tell others, not just the pastor.
If you know Jesus Christ as your Savior, it's your job too.
Don't stand by and let somebody else that don't know Christ go to hell.
Amen.
Tell them.
You let them make the decision whether or not they want to go to hell.
That's their decision to make.
It was my decision to make.
I chose to believe on Christ and not to go to hell.
And now the longer I've lived as a Christian, I have discovered I'm supposed to be telling other people too.
I don't want to see nobody else die and go to hell.
I want to tell them I want to let them make the decision.
God let Adam and Eve make their own decision in the Garden of Eden.
But the point is, God gave them the decision to make.
If you've never heard about Jesus Christ, I'm telling you today it is faith in Jesus Christ and him alone.
It's not your works, folks.
Jesus did it all on the cross without any of your help.
The only help we gave him was to sin.
We helped put him up on that cross.
We helped knell him to that cross.
And we helped take him down off that cross and put him in a tomb.
He did all of it by himself other than that.
The only help we did was to have him crucified.
He didn't need none of our helps to resurrect, did he?
He didn't need none of our helps to come and be born of a virgin and live a perfect life.
We didn't help him do none of that.
So how people can think that they can add to the perfect sacrifice that God give us is beyond me.
I can't grasp that.
Jesus did it all.
All to heal my own.
Faith, folks, for by grace are you saved through faith and that not of yourselves.
So I want to close today with 1 Peter.
Chapter 1, and we're gonna read verses 3 through 9.
He's already there, y'all already there, got your mark Now before we get there one more thing real quick I got a text this morning And they're wanting us to fill out a bunch of paperwork with a bunch of our personal information on it.
They're asking questions that ain't none of their business.
Now I want you to know that I love each and every one of you.
And I love coming here.
But it ain't none of their business about my family, where I live, my personal life I don't think I'm gonna fill that out.
It ain't none of her business.
The uh administrator baby.
Yeah.
Yes.
And I told her that I'm not gonna fill it out.
I don't want people knowing where my wife lives.
It ain't none of their business.
We've been coming all these years now.
Ain't nobody ever asked for none of that stuff.
But my point is, if this is my last sermon here I hope appointed you to Christ.
And I hope appointed you to God.
And we're going to close today in 1 Peter 1, 3, and God willing, I'm going to be back next week.
But if I ain't, Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven, folks.
I'm telling you because I know Believe me.
1 Peter 1:3.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
To an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you.
Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation, ready to be revealed in the last time.
Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptation.
That the trial of your faith being much more precious than of gold that perishes though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen, ye love.
In whom though now ye see him not, yet believing ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory. receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
The word salvation means rescue or safety.
For those who have not trusted in Christ, you have no faith, and the end of no faith is no salvation.
No rescue, no safety from the wrath of God, and you will be separated and sentenced to spend eternity with all the other enemies of God.
But for the ones who have faith, the ones who choose to believe, for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son.
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life at the end of your road, because you had faith Your soul is rescued from an eternity of fire and misery, forever to be saved and with the one who gave his life for you.
John 15, 13.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man laid down his life for his friends.
Can you call Jesus Christ your friend?
Do you know him?
Can you call him friend?
If you can, then you know Jesus Christ laid his life down for you.
And you are saved.
Amen.
Rest in that, folks.
Heavenly Father, we thank you so much, Lord, for this lesson that you blessed us with, Lord, to share it with the folks here. for those who come to hear your word, Lord.
And Father, we just pray your will be done in this situation.
With all this digging and privacy issues and stuff, Father, we just pray that your will be done, Lord.
Lord, you know I don't want to go, Lord.
I enjoy coming and sharing your word here, Lord.
But it's some things just ain't some people's none of their none of their business, Lord.
And I just I don't understand if this is just a trial or what, Lord.
But I pray your will be done in the matter.
And I pray you'll bless each and every person that's come to hear your word here today, Father.
And if they do take me out, Lord, I pray, Father, that they'll put somebody in here that'll share your word in truth.
And that they'll point each and every person that comes to Jesus and to you, Father.
Lord, we want to pray for those who are sick. that can't get out of their bed, Lord, that want to come and hear your word, but can't make it because of health issues, Lord.
We pray for your mercy on them, Father.
We pray for the ones who just snub coming, Lord, just got something better else to do, Lord, than to come and hear your word.
Father, we pray, Lord, that you would draw them to the cross Father, and that they would hear your draw, and that they would come and see Christ, Father, and that they would want to get into your word and learn and get closer to you, Father.
Lord, we sure thank you for all the times you let us come.
Thank you for Brother Ray and leading the songs, Lord.
We thank you for Brother Larry when he comes too, Lord, and help.
Thank you for the camera lady coming and we just thank you for each and every person, Lord, that just helps out here, Lord, to help make all this happen, Father.
We sure thank you for you, Lord.
And we know that your hand is in all of it, Father, for you're over all of it, Lord.
And we thank you and we love you so much, Lord.
Thank you, Father.
In Jesus' name, Lord, we pray here today.
Amen.
