All right, we're gonna be in the book of Jude where we left off. Now before we get started let me mark something off here that I don't want. (chattering) Yeah, I don't wanna mention it. And that's what's amazing when you're singing, how God can put thoughts in your mind while you're singing, while you're doing something. And that's what just took place, and I'm so glad, I'm glad. I'm glad God showed me something right there. Let's see how far. Okay, maybe we can go with that. All right, good to see everybody. Hello, Miss Charlotte. - Hello. (laughing) - All right. Oh, let's do this before I get to rolling. Almost forgot. What do you think, camera lady? Is that pretty good? The trouble is not where you're set, folks. Pretty, still pretty good. All right, these are gonna be the verses we're gonna be going along with today with our Book of Jude, so here we go. And some of y'all probably noticed that some of these verses are some of the same ones we used last week, and there's a reason for that. Before we get into that, last week we left off in the book of Jude at verse 14, where Jude says, is everybody in the book of Jude? We all want everybody's eyes on God's word, okay. He says in the book of Jude, verse 14, "And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, "prophesied of these, saying, "Behold, the Lord cometh with 10,000 of his saints." Let's pray, haven't we, Father? We sure thank you, Lord. Thank you for your wonderful word, Father. We thank you for the truths that are in your word, Lord. And I pray, Lord, that each and every person here today is fed by your truths, Lord. Just let your spirit teach through us, Lord, and teach to us today, Father. We thank you for Jesus so much, Lord. We sure are thankful for each and every person that's come to hear your word today, Lord. We thank you and love you, Lord. In Jesus' name we pray, amen. - Amen. - Amen. - All right. Now, now we discussed Enoch and who he was, and during our discussion, I mentioned that Enoch was without sin for the Lord to have transferred him. Now like I said earlier, there's a reason why some of these verses are back on here. Because I need to go back over them again. I told you wrong and it breaks my heart. And I tell you what really eats me up more than I just told you wrong is I had to wait all week to come and apologize to you and tell you the truth. That's tough. That eats on me all week. Okay, Hebrews 11, 5 says, "By faith, Edom was translated that he should not see death and was not found because God had translated him. For before his translation, he had his testimony that he pleased God." That word translation or translate means to transfer. and I came along and he just took Enoch. What I should have said was that Enoch had been forgiven of his sins. We are all sinners. You, me, and Enoch as well. Romans 3.23 says, "For all have sinned "and come short of the glory of God." Now, do y 'all remember what the word all means? It means all, doesn't it? All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. It means all, and that includes Enoch as well. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Enoch was forgiven of his sins the same way we are. By faith. So let's look back at Hebrews 11.5. And I want you to see, what are those first three words? Let's look at Hebrews 11.5, I'm sorry I didn't mark it. Oh look at you go, Don, you're about there. Hebrews 11 .5. Get in, come back this way. (mumbling) Look at your tab. (mumbling) (murmuring) - Hebrews 11 five, Hebrews 11 five. Y'all got it, Miss Becky? Good, good. Hebrews 11 five. Now I want y'all to see this. Now Enoch was forgiven of his sins the same way we are, by faith. Now, look at Hebrews 11 five. Let me get to it too, I should've marked it. I shouldn't have wrote it down. Hebrews 11 five. Okay, where you at James? Hebrews, there we are. Hebrews 11.5, here we go. He says, "By faith, Enoch was translated that he should not see death." I did have a row down, but I'm losing my mind, folks. "By faith, Enoch was translated that he should not see death." Now, what are those first three words? It says, "By faith, Enoch," right? By faith, look back at Hebrews 11, what are those first three words? By faith, Enoch. Now, what are the last two words in that verse? The last two words in that verse? - [Voiceover] Nephites. - So put those words together. By faith Enoch pleased God. Now by faith Enoch pleased God. Do you want to please God? Replace Enoch's name with yours. By faith Don pleased God. By faith Charlotte pleased God. By faith the camera lady pleased God. By faith this man pleased God. There we go. Enoch was forgiven of his sins because he believed in the one who paid for his sins. Folks, every sin you have ever committed against God and every sin you will ever commit in the future has been paid for already by the shedding of the blood of an innocent substitute without spot and his name is Jesus the Christ who went to the cross and paid for them himself. Your sin debt to God is paid in full and there is nothing you can do to change that. You can't change it. It's a done deal. It's already been paid. You can't add to it and you can't take away from it. Why? because it has already been done for you freely. Salvation is a gift from God. 2 Corinthians 9, 15 says, thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift. - Amen. - Romans 6, 23 says, for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Christ's sacrifice of His earthly life for you was because He wanted to make sure there was a way for you to be forgiven. He wanted to make sure you had an opportunity to live in paradise with Him forever after this earthly body lays down for the last time. Why? Because He loves you. He loves you. Believe it or not, he loves Brother Doug too. He loves us. I cannot think of a better gift than eternal life with my Savior. And Enoch must have thought the same way because he believed God. Enoch was a sinner just like each and every one of us. Enoch was a forgiven sinner because he believed in a coming Savior who would pay his sin-dad in full. Remember Enoch was an antediluvian. Y'all remember what that means? Before the flood. He lived before the flood. He was putting his faith looking ahead. One day God's gonna send his only begotten son to die for my sins. And he believed that. He put his faith, he believed God. But he was still a sinner. Just like each and every one of us. Each and every one of us are born, held captive to the darkness of sin, including Enoch. But there is a way to be brought out of that captivity and it's through the faith in the shed blood of Christ. Colossians 112, and now we've got Mark. - Colossians 112, hey. - Oh, you already, man. Thomas already jumped away, but Thomas already there. Good for you, Thomas. Colossians 112. - All right, all got it, Miss Becky? That worked out good. Colossians 112. Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet, or that word means to enable, or enabled or qualified partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light, who hath delivered us from the power of darkness and hath translated us. Y'all remember what translated means? Transferred. Who hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear son. Folks, that hasn't happened yet. Why? Because you're still here with me. I'm still here with you. But through faith, I believe. And when this body lays down for the last time, folks, I'll be translated, I'll be transferred into the kingdom of his dear son, in whom we have redemption. That word redemption comes from the word, you could just interchange it with, or ransom in full, or you could say deliverance, deliverance, in whom we have deliverance. How? through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins. You are at peace with God, put your faith in Jesus Christ, and you'll have forgiveness of sins. And folks, that's what we want, isn't it? Don't we want our sins forgiven? - Amen. - Pray. Praise God, we do. Through the blood of Christ, we have our sins forgiven. But you have to believe. You put your faith in that fact. So we all understand that Enoch was a sinner, right? We got that. Good. Thank you, Lord. Folks, that's been bothering me all week. You don't know how much that eats me up. And it tears me up. I had my mis... Where did them words came from? I think what happened was this got running faster than this. And that happens. This gets outrun in this. When this outruns this, I get myself in trouble. Now, one more thing I've got to apologize for. Now the next thing I need to address that I said last week was that Enoch was Noah's grandfather. That is untrue. Enoch was Noah's great-grandfather. And you might be thinking, "Well, Brother Doug, that's not that big of a deal." It is to me. That's been eating me up. I don't want to tell nobody wrong. And God knows I don't want to tell nobody wrong. And what I do, it weighs on me like a brick just pounced on me. And I can't get it off until I come and apologize. Enoch was Noah's great-grandfather, Genesis 5.25. And we went over these last week. And Methuselah lived 187 years and begat Lamech. Now remember, Methuselah was Enoch's son. Genesis 5.26, and we're just gonna read on down to 29, I believe. and Lamech lived 180 and two years and begat a son. And he called his name, oh I'm sorry, back up, 526 and Methuselah lived after he begat Lamech, 780 and two years that he begat sons of Don. That's a long time to live, isn't it, Don? 780 and two years? 782 years. - That's a long time. - Yeah, I don't think it's gonna happen nowadays. We don't eat good enough to do that, do we? Or die. And Methuselah lived after he begat Lamech 780 and two years and begat sons and daughters. So Lamech is Enoch's grandson. Not Noah, but Lamech is Enoch's grandson. Genesis 5.27, and all the days of Methuselah were 960 and nine years and he died. And Lamech, this is Methuselah's son, this is Enoch's grandson, lived 180 and two years and he began a son. And he called his name Noah, saying, "This same shall comfort us concerning our work "and toil of our hands because of the ground "which the Lord hath cursed." So Noah is Lamech's son. Lamech is Methuselah's son. and Methuselah is Enoch's son. So genealogies will get complicated, they do for me really quick. You all can see that from last week when I said that he was his grandson. So Noah is the son of Lamech, which I have calculated it, if I have calculated it right this time, would make Noah the great-grandson of Enoch, making Enoch the great-grandfather of Noah instead of the grandfather of Noah. Now with all this said today, I apologize to each and every one of you for the mistakes of what I said last week. God knows that I was not intentionally trying to mislead anyone. I enjoy coming here and having fellowship together with each and every one of you every Sunday. But what I don't enjoy is telling you wrong. I don't wanna tell you wrong, I don't wanna tell nobody wrong. God wants you to know his word and the truths that are within his word. And I don't wanna stand up here and tell you wrong. I do not want to tell nobody wrong about nothing, especially God's Word. So I hope you accept my apology and I'll try not to let it happen again, but I can't promise that it will. I'm just human like everybody else and I make mistakes. But what I can do, when I find out that I had told you wrong, I'm going to be the first one to stand here and tell you, "Hey, I told you wrong." I don't want to go without telling you right. And when I tell you wrong, I'm going to tell you I told you wrong. If anything, folks, please know that Christ died for your sins. Please know that. My favorite verse is becoming my favorite verse. It's John 3.18 and we're going to close with this. He that believeth on him is not condemned. But he that believeth not is condemned already. Why? Because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Jesus Christ went to the cross. He did not do that for himself. He did that for you. Jesus Christ stayed on that cross. He died for your sins. All your sins were placed on Jesus Christ on that day. When Jesus died on that cross, they brought him off that cross and they laid him dead in a tomb. He came out of that tomb on the third day. Now they have this special thing going on, Happy Easter. And it breaks my heart they're showing these bunny rabbits running around with eggs. That reminds me of the Santa Claus thing. There's neither nor, either, or. That's not right. Every day should be a celebration of the Resurrection Day, folks. If you know Jesus Christ is your Savior, He died for your sins. He rose again to overcome death for us. And you should celebrate that every day you get up out of that bed. Not just one day that the world says, "Happy Easter." Happy Resurrection Day, folks. Every day. Heavenly Father, we thank you so much for your Word, Lord. And I'm sorry, God. You know my heart. And you know I don't want to tell people wrong. You know the little devil got to messing with me, Father, and he wanted me to back out. Would you stop altogether, Father? But with your grace, Lord, and with your help, I don't want to quit. I just pray Lord that you remove stupid thoughts from my mind Father. Just teach through me Lord. Help me to keep my mouth shut when I don't mean to say things that aren't true. Lord, we sure thank you for each and every person that comes. Lord, hear your word, Father. I pray, Lord, that the saints were here today, Lord, and that the lost were pointed to you. Lord, we want to thank you for Don's recovery. We want to thank you for Joy's coming, Lord, for each and every person that comes here today, Lord. I want to pray for John too, Lord. Just pray your will be done in this evening and our Lord. Pray for the caregivers that are here, Father, and just pray that they'll help take care of these people like you want them to be taken care of, Father. And pray that they take care of them like they were taking care of themselves, Lord. We sure thank you, Lord, for each and everything that you do, Father, for all you do is good. Thank you, Lord. We sure love you, Lord. Thank you for Jesus so much, Lord. We thank you, Lord, that he came out of that tomb, Father. In his name we pray, Lord. Amen.
