Alright, well good afternoon everyone. Hey congratulations. Today's y'all's anniversary or congratulations to you. How long y'all been marri It's 62 years. 62 years. We have a couple of years to be married for 62 years today to your anniversary. That's a blessing. You don't see that, Harvey, anymore nowadays. So that's a blessing that y'all stick together all these years. And that's a blessing from Lord that you do that. All right. Well, good afternoon, everyone. Good afternoon. Hello, Miss Murray. Last week we left off in the book of Jude in verse 17, which says, we're in the book of Jude right now, verse 17. And Jude says, but beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. Let's pray. Heavenly Father, what a blessing it is, Lord, to come and have fellowship with each and every person that comes, Lord. What a blessing it is, Lord. What a, I don't know, the words just escaped me, Father, but it's such a blessing to come here, Lord, and have fellowship with each and every person that comes. Lord, we're so blessed by the presence, Father. And Lord, we pray, Lord, that you will just bless us with your presence here today, Lord, and teach your word through your spirit here today, Lord. We pray that each and every word will be to your glory, Father. And each and every ear here today will be focused on hearing your word, Father. We pray, Lord, that you just teach us today, Lord. Thank you so much for all that you do, Lord, for all you do as good. Good father. We ask these things in Jesus' name now, Father Bible. Amen. Amen. All right. Folks, if I told you how good how much I enjoy being with y'all. Y'all are just such a blessing to me. It's very exciting for me to come here. Now last week we discussed the word remember. Remember? Remember. And I said that the translation from the Greek word Gives us the idea of a fixture in the mind or a mental grasp Now I use the example of those bumblebees swarming around their nest after I had run over it with my lawnmower and how I remembered my mother getting stung by a bumblebee many years ago. And I remember the pain that she was expressing from the sting of that bee. And I did not want to go through that. So I got away from those bees as fast as I could. Seeing the pain that my mom went through became a fixture in my mind. I remembered it. This incident happened approximately with my mother. That incident happened approximately 45 years ago, but I still remember my mother getting stung. And I still understand that I do not want to get stung by a bumblebee. How many people here have ever been stung by one of those big yellow and black bumblebees? Several of you. Did it hurt? Yeah. You remember it, don't you? Yeah. Ah. It wasn't supposed to be as a wasp. A wasp? Okay, well it still hurt, didn't it? Now, do you ever want to get stung again by one? No, I sure don't. I don't want to get stung myself. God does not want us to get stung either when it comes to the life that we live here in this old sin-filled world. I believe that is one of the reasons he blessed us with his word. To teach us how not to be stung by death when the time comes for us to shed these old fleshly bodies. And that's through the belief of the death of his dear son on the cross for our sins. 1 Corinthians 15:50, and I have you marked there, Miss Works. You are Mark. Oh, I didn't get to you. I'm sorry. 1 Corinthians 15:50. I'll mess you up there in Where are we at? 1 Corinthians 15 feet. 1 Corinthians 3 50. 15 feet. Much dollars. Fifteen fifty. Alright, we're gonna go first. Check fifteen. Fifteen. No five minutes did, right? I was pretty interested. 15 should be over here somewhere. Picky, right there, look at that. 1 Corinthians keep on back to back. 1 Corinthians here. What is it? I guess you can stick anything. Okay, fifteen prayers are done perfectly well. You're almost there. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. 1 Corinthians. Oh, you've got a lot of it marked there, Miss Mary. That's the first page of Galatians. Everybody got it? I want everybody's eyes on it. 1 Corinthians, there's 2. 1 Corinthians 2 Corinthians, 1 Corinthians. First drain. 15 and then we'll start 50. There you go, you got it. Everybody got it? We're good? I got her marked. There she is. Y'all got it back there, ma'am? Y'all got it? Good, good. We want everybody's eyes on God's Word, folks. That's what we're here for: to look at God's Word. So here we go. 1 Corinthians 15. 50. Now this I say, brethren. Now this is the Apostle Paul, okay? And he's writing to the Corinthians. And he says, Now this I say, brethren. Now we're talking about that sting, the sting of death now. That flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. Folks, when you. This life's over with. You're not taking this flesh and blood with you. It's not going. Good. Amen. That's right. He says, Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood. cannot inherit the kingdom of God. Neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. These old bodies come from this old corrupt ground, folks. So corruption does not inherit incorruption. You will not be taking this body with you when you leave. He says, Behold, I show you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed. You're not taking this body. You will be changed from this body. We shall all be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump. For the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible, yes old flesh, must put on incorruption. You cannot go be with the Lord in this corrupt flesh. You have to have an incorruptible. You have to be forgiven. And this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible, this flesh, shall have put on incorruption. And this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: Death is swallowed up in victory. Jesus Christ went to the cross. He was crucified on the cross. He paid your sin death at the cross. All your sins were placed on Christ at the cross. After Christ died on that cross. They took him down from the cross. He went to a tomb where he lay for three days. He was raised from that tomb on the third day, overcoming death for you folks He did that for you. When you put your faith in what Christ did for you on the cross, guess what? You're going to overcome death as well. You're going to overcome death as well, folks. Woo, boy. Get married, that's good right there. Thank you, God. Praise God. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So, when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. He goes on in verse 55 of 1 Corinthians chapter 15 to say, O death, where is thy stain? Stain. O grave, where is thy victory? For those of us who know Jesus Christ as our Savior, there is no stain. The grave has no victory over us, folks. The sting of death is sin. When a bumblebee stings you, it injects venom. Now I did a search on this. I did a study on it. So this ain't just broke up making this up. When a bumblebee stings you, it injects venom. And in some people, this venom can lead to anaphylactic shock. which is a life-threatening condition that requires immediate medical treatment When you get stung by a bee, what I read says to remove the stinger immediately because it will continue to pump venom into you. If you die without being forgiven of your sins, the venom of death will continue to sting you for eternity The way you keep from getting stung by death is through faith in Christ. He goes on to say, but thanks, oh, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Now we are all going to die, but you do not have to die twice. If you die twice, it's your own fault. Christ died for you once. You put your faith in Christ's death once. You are forgiven forever. If you do not put your faith in Christ as your Savior, when this whole body lays down for the last time and your spirit goes to be judged. You're going to be sentenced to a life of misery and torture. And that is what the Bible calls the second death. You do not have to have the second death upon you. There's no excuses. Faith in Christ will save you If I did not believe that, I would not be standing here telling you that. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast. Unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord. For as much as ye know that your labor is not in vain. This past week, my job that I do, it requires me to get up at 1 o'clock in the morning. I get up at 1 o'clock in the morning, right now, in order for me to get to work on time and get everything done that needs to be done in time for my crew to get started working at 3. We started working at 3 o'clock in the morning at my job. This past week I had to work six days and they hinted to me working today. Well, but I informed them no sooner did they get it out of their mouth wanting me to work today. They didn't get it out of their mouth very well until I told them, I said, I cannot work today. I go to church on Sundays. Now I know that not everybody can go to church on Sundays. Some people have jobs that require them to work on Sundays, and I understand that. If we didn't have certain people going to work on Sundays, what would you do for emergency care? Somebody had a car wreck and needed to be in an emergency room. There has to be certain people. Not everybody is called to preach God's word. I believe that I am and I will stand up for not working a Sunday in order to come up here and be with y' And share God's word. The way I look at it, the good Lord is the one that blesses me with the income that I have right now. And if they don't like me, not being able to work Sundays. God will put me where he wants me to be, and I can promise you that God will take care of my needs. He always has. That's right. I'm not quite 60, but for these 59 years and some odd days that I have been on this earth, God has never ceased to not take care of me. I've never seen the righteous forsaken or his seed begging for bread. That's right. And I can tell you right now, I don't believe God's going to stop it right now. He's going to continue to take care of me. I believe that wholeheartedly. So if they decide to get rid of me because I'm not going to work Sundays, then so be it. God will put me where he wants me to be. I informed them that I cannot work on Sundays again because this is not the first conversation we've had about this as I go to church on Sundays. Every time this conversation comes up at work, I am expected to get fired. But so far, God has made it possible for me to keep this job that I have. I have a supervisor who has backed me up when the topic of working Sundays comes up, and I thank God so much for him. When you show up to hear God's word, you help me know, you help me to know that my labor is not in vain. And I would imagine that would be true for the majority of preachers. I can remember the times when I would study and spend time writing a lesson, and nobody would show up. I'd be in tears asking God if this is really what I'm supposed to be doing. When you show up to hear God's word, you are God's answer to my prayer. Helping me to remember that this is what I am supposed to be doing. And your labor is not in vain because you are doing God's work, showing up and hearing His word. It is amazing to me to watch God work. And we need to always remember that God is in control. And I have to remind myself of that fact from time to time. I have to remember that my labor is not in vain in the Lord. Now, we know that our labor is not in vain in the Lord because of his word telling us so. Jude says back in verse 17, but beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. The word apostles comes from the Greek word apostolos and means a delegate, specifically an ambassador of the gospel Officially, a commissioner of Christ with miraculous powers, messenger, he that is sent. The dictionary definition of a delegate is a person appointed and sent by another with powers to transact business as his representative. deputy, a commissioner. Officially, the apostles had miraculous powers that they were given to use in order to point people to the kingdom of God and heal the sick. Luke 9, 1 says, Then he called his 12 disciples together, talking about Christ, and gave them power and authority over all devils and to cure diseases. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. I believe someone who calls themselves an apostle Does not realize that an apostle was one chosen by Christ to cure diseases and heal the sick as well as preach the kingdom of God. If they believe they can cure diseases, then why do we still have cancer and COVID and all the other mess that we have? God used the apostles to bring attention to his kingdom. And Jude is speaking of the apostles to bring attention to to God's word and these apostles are the apostles. Look back at your text, what Jude says, of our Lord Jesus Christ. These men were appointed by Christ and were given the authority to represent him. They were delegates of Christ and Jude is wanting us to remember what they said. A representative of Christ, who is God, by the way. One God, three persons. As we look at verse 18 in Jude, where Jude says, How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time who should walk after their own Ungodly lust. Remember what the apostles said, which is the words that our Lord gave them to say. Which is the words that are written here in God's Word because all scripture is given by inspiration of God. We will close here today, folks. And God willing, we will start back here next Sunday. Heavenly Father, we thank you so much for your precious words, Lord, that you bless us. Lord. Lord, we thank you for your Holy Spirit, and we thank you so much for Jesus, Lord. We thank you that He stayed on that cross, Father, and that He didn't come down until He work here was finished, Father. We thank you, Lord, so much for Christ, Lord. We thank you, Lord, for all that you do. For all you do is good, Lord. Lord, we're so thankful for each and every person that comes here to hear your word, Lord. And we want to pray for those that don't know Christ as their Savior Savior, Father. We pray that you will just draw them to the cross, Father, that they'll heed your draw, Lord, and that you'll show Christ died for their sins on that cross, Father. And that they can be forgiven through Christ, Lord. And they can live a life with you for eternity, Father. We sure thank you, Lord. We thank you for each and every person here today, Lord, and we want to thank you for that. The caregivers for these people here, Lord. We pray that they'll care for these people, Lord, as you want them to be taken care of, Father. We want them to know, Lord, that you are here with them, Lord. Let them know that, Father. Let them know you're here, Father. Let them know that they're not alone, Lord. We thank you and we love you so much, Father. We pray for those who are sick, Lord. We pray that your will be done in their lives, Father, and in their healing, Lord. We pray for the ones who have wandered astray, Father, that you would guide them back to the path, Father. We just thank you so much, Lord. What a blessing it is to know Christ as our Savior, Father. And we thank you so much, Lord. Thank you for the fellowship that we have here, Lord. And we just thank you, Lord. And we ask these things in Jesus' name. Amen.
