Episode Transcript
Alright, hello everybody.
I'll tell you what, good Lord's going to have to bless us with a bigger room, ain't He?
That's a blessing right there, I'll tell you what. it just amazes me.
So camera lady we need to put down to order some more song books.
That's a good problem to have right there.
We sure appreciate the song leader standing in for Brother Cole, but he's Please remember him in your prayers right now.
And why fighting some health issues?
Hopefully he'll be back soon.
I wish you'll appreciate Brother Ray standing in and sharing for the privilege.
Oh, actually, it's just wonderful, wonderful.
Thank y'all for coming to hear God's word.
So, good afternoon, everyone.
Last week, we left off in the book of Jude in verse 18.
As we continue our study in the book of Jude, we will start in verse 17 today and we're going to read down through verse 18.
God willing will help us to help us keep us in context of the verse that we'll be looking over today.
So we're going to start off in Jude verse 17.
Jude says, but be the loving.
Remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, how that they told you there should be mockers in the last time.
Who should walk after their own ungodly lust?
Let's pray.
Heavenly Father, we thank you so much, Lord, for each and every person that's come here to hear your word, Father.
We thank you, Lord, for this place that you bless us with here, Lord, to come together and have fellowship in your word, Father, and to be taught, Father.
We just pray, Lord, that your Holy Spirit will.
Just teach us here today, Lord.
And just draw the ones here, Lord, that you want to hear your word, Father.
We thank you, and we love you so much, Father.
And we pray, Lord, that all eyes will be on you here today, Lord.
All ears will be attentive, Father, and that the distractions will be removed, Lord.
We thank you so much, Father, for all you do.
And in Jesus' name we pray.
Amen.
Now Jude reminds us that the apostles told us that there should be mockers or deceivers, impostors in the last time.
False teachers who teach a false doctrine to anybody who will fall for it.
Their words are their net, folks.
When they speak false words, they are casting a net.
See who they can snare.
Now when my dad goes fishing, he has a big net.
That he will cast out.
And when he throws that net out, it opens up wide like this And when it lands on the water, he's casting out to see if he can catch any bait, any minnows.
Or whatever might fall in that net.
Daddy, he throws that net out, it opens up, it lands in the water, and it has weights on the side of that net.
Now those weights, they fall and they come together and they catch whatever falls is inside that neck.
He will take this net, and when he casts it out, it opens and flies through the air, landing in the water.
The weights that are at the ends of this net come together and trap the minnows.
That are inside, and when he pulls the net back up out of the water, he has bait to fish with.
These false teachers that Jude is reminding us of, they could not continue to teach false doctrine if they ceased to catch bait.
When they continue to catch bait, they continue to teach false doctrine.
Their words are their nets.
And when you believe what they are saying is true, you have been snared.
Psalms 10-2, and we got everybody marked that wanted to be marked.
Psalms 10-2 is the very first blue tab that we mark.
Psalms 10-2.
Psalms 10:2, very first blue tab.
The very first blue tab.
There you go.
The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor.
Another name for wicked is ungodly.
Let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.
For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous That means greedily gained, whom the Lord abhorreth.
The Lord abhorred covetous.
The wicked or the ungodly, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God.
God is not in all his thoughts.
His ways, and remember we talked about ways here a while back.
That is his road.
That is his road or course of life, his actions.
Are always grievous.
That means twisted.
They're twisted.
If they are not in line with the Lord's thoughts, they are twisted.
They are grievous.
Thy judgments are far above out of his sight.
As for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.
They do not believe what they are doing is wrong.
And if you tell them, they don't care.
They puffeth.
They don't care.
He has said in his heart, I shall not be moved, for I shall never be in adversity.
Nothing will never happen to me.
I can just continue to do and say what I want.
His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud.
Under his tongue is mischief and vanity.
In Genesis 3:13, after Eve was tempted of the devil.
And God confronted her about it.
After the Lord asked Eve why she ate of the tree, the fruit of the tree of good and evil.
God said that God told her not to eat.
She said, the serpent beguiled me.
That's the same word meaning as the word deceit The word deceit led the serpent led her as Astray, and that is the same thing false teachers do.
They deceive or lead people astray.
He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages.
In the secret places doth he murder the innocent.
His eyes are privileged against the poor.
That's another word for the unhappy.
He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den.
He lieth in wait to catch the poor.
He doth catch the poor when he draweth him into his net the poor or the unhappy They are grasping at something to help them be happy.
And too often, the lies of false teachers is what they grasp a hold of.
Maybe you have been trapped by the net of a false teacher.
The Bible says In Psalms 146, 5, Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God.
I can't help but think of the woman who told me that the Old Testament was a bunch of Hebrew myths because of a false teacher who cast a net that she fell in.
That broke my heart when she told me that because I believe every word that God has taken the time to bless us with here in his word is true.
Every word that He has made sure and preserved for us to learn and guide and teach us in this is the true word of God.
All the way from the book of Genesis to the book of Revelations is true.
Amen.
If not, then you tell me how the Bible has survived all these years through time, with so many generations trying to destroy it.
God has and will continue to preserve his word.
Matthew, Mark, and Luke say it the same exact way, word for word.
Matthew 24, 35, Mark 13, 31, and Luke 21, 33 say, Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
Amen.
Amen.
There is a way out of the net, folks, if you had fallen prey to a false teacher.
Maybe you had been told something that just doesn't seem to fit.
And you know inside that something just isn't right.
But you have had someone who stood in a pulpit tell you these things, so they must know what they are talking about, right?
Yes.
If you are believing something that you just don't have peace with, then maybe you are pointing to something that is not bringing you peace.
Think about that.
If you are believing something that you just don't have peace with.
Then maybe you were pointed to something that is not bringing you peace.
A false teacher is not going to point you to something they know nothing about.
Instead, they will point you to what they do know about or think.
And what they know or think is the way of this world.
Jesus said in John 14:27.
Peace I leave with you.
My peace I give unto you.
Not as the world giveth, give I unto you.
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
If your heart is troubled and you are afraid.
And you haven't been told of Jesus.
Because my Jesus, he just said that right there.
And I believe it.
If you're not sure where your soul is going after you leave this flesh, then you do not have peace.
And deep inside, you are troubled and afraid.
You do not have to live like that.
There is a way out of that net, folks.
Turn to the Lord and he will put you pull you out of that net, folks.
He will reach down and pull you out of that net.
Psalms 25-12, and we've got that on Mark 2.
That's your next blue tab in your Bible.
What man is he that feareth the Lord?
Him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
His soul shall dwell at ease.
And his seed shall inherit the earth.
Don't you want your soul to dwell at ease?
Don't be questioning.
You don't have to question.
The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him, and he will show them his covenant.
Mine eyes are ever toward the Lord, for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.
Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me, for I am desolate and afflicted.
The troubles of my heart are enlarged.
Oh, bring thou me out of my distresses.
Look upon mine affliction and my pain, and forgive all my sins.
Only the Lord can do that, folks.
Not a preacher, not some baptismal water.
Not a prayer.
Only the Lord can forgive your sins.
Amen.
I wish I could remember what my pastor said.
Amen What did he say about the only the grace of God can satisfy the judgment of God I've got that wrote down in my study.
Look to the Lord for help, folks, and he will show you the way, the truth, and the life.
Back in the book of Jude, Jude says there should be mockers who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
When we are walking, what are we doing?
We are traveling.
We are moving.
Now these mockers Choosing the way they are walking.
Nobody is forcing them to walk opposite.
Nobody is forcing them to choose the path that they're on.
That is a choice. that they have made themselves.
That is a choice each and every one of us make.
Which path do you want to walk?
You're either walking with God's path or you're walking against the Lord's path.
When we are walking, we are traveling.
Now these mockers are choosing the way they are walking.
When the camera lady and I enter this building, we choose to walk to this room and get things set up for church service.
I then choose to walk out of this room and go check on those that have asked me to come and check on them and maybe pray with them or just make sure they get a reminder that we are going to have service today.
That is our choice.
The camera lady and I could choose not to come and walk into this room and have church service and go check on others, but those choices that we make.
To do those things are very important to us.
We choose to do those things because those things matter to us.
The ungodly, false teachers.
They choose what matters to them.
Sharing God's word with y'all matters to us.
So we choose to do those things.
Now the things that matter to the ungodly are their own ungodly lust, which is contrary to the things of God.
Those are worldly things.
They lust for money, power, and fame, things that are of this sinful world, carnal things.
Romans 8, 6 says, For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Peace.
Amen.
Because the carnal mind is enmity against God.
For it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
The word enmity means hostility or reason for opposition.
Jesus Christ gave his life to pay for that enmity, folks, in order that you may be forgiven.
We will close today with Ephesians 2. 11 through 18.
Ephesians 2. 11 through 18, and we have you marked that your last blue tag.
Wherefore remember what is Jew telling us to do?
Remember.
Remember, remember that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh. who are called uncircumcision by that which is called the circumcision in the flesh made by hands.
That at that time me were without Christ.
Being aliens from the Commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope.
Having no hope, the poor, unhappy, having no hope, and without God in the world.
Unhappy.
I can't tell you what kind of smile came on my face once I realized Jesus Christ died for my sins.
I can't tell you the happiness that just went through me.
There is no joy like salvation, joy, and I will say it until the day I die.
But now in Christ Jesus, ye who sometimes were far off.
Are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
Thank you, Lord.
Jesus shed His blood in order to pay for your sins.
Through faith you are forgiven of that.
You are forgiven for your sins.
For he, Jesus, is our peace.
Who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us.
There is a partition law between those who don't know Christ as their Savior, and that is called sin.
We are born sinners.
We come into this world covered in sin.
That covering of sin separates us between God And ourselves, Jesus paid the price to cover our sins.
So when God looks at us, He no longer sees sin no more, folks.
He sees the shed blood of his son who paid for our sins.
I can't help but thank him when Moses came across the burning bush and God told him to remove those shoes because the ground he was standing on was holy ground.
Moses couldn't come over to that ground with no shoes on.
Folks, we can't go to heaven and be with the Lord with the sin on us.
Moses tracked all that sins of the world, all that sinful dirt.
God told them to take it off, get rid of it.
We have to remove the sin debt, folks, before we can go to be with the Lord.
Amen.
God is a holy, righteous God who allows no sin in heaven.
And I'm going to tell you something.
When I die, I won't go be in a bunch of sin.
I thank God that He doesn't allow sin in heaven.
Amen.
There's enough of it down here.
For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us. having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances.
For to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace.
And that he might reconcile or change mutually, no longer enemies with God.
We are changed mutually.
No longer enemies with God.
Both unto God in one body, how?
By the cross.
Having slain the enmity or the hostility or reason for opposition or hatred, God hates sinners.
Yes, He does.
He loves the sinner, but he hates sin, folks.
God loves the sinner so much that he sent his only begotten son to die for the sins of the sinner.
Thereby, enmity thereby, and came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
False teacher is not going to tell you that.
For through him, Jesus, we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
Thank you, Lord God.
No man cometh unto the Father but by me.
That's right.
Praise God.
Without Jesus Christ, folks, your sins are not forgiven.
For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves.
It is the gift of God.
Jesus Christ was the gift of God.
Of God.
Amen.
For God so loved the world that He gave He gave His only begotten Son.
Whosoever believeth is him, shall not But have everlasting life.
Woohoo!
That's right.
Praise God.
Heavenly Father, we thank you so much, Lord, for this lesson that you blessed us with here today, Father.
We pray, Lord, that the lost were pointed to you, Lord, and that the saints were edified, Lord.
We thank you and love you so much, Father, for all that you do.
We thank you for your word.
We thank you for your Holy Spirit, and Lord, we thank you for Jesus so much, Father.
Lord, we want to pray for those who are here that are here today, Lord.
That comes to hear your word, Paul.
I want to pray for those that are sick and can't get out of their beds, Lord, to be here, Father.
Lord, we want to pray for them.
We pray your perfect will be done in their healing, Lord.
We want to pray for our song leader, Brother Covin, Lord, his wife.
Pray for my mother, Lord, as she's going through this time with her brother, Lord.
We pray for her, Lord.
We thank you for her comfort there, Father.
Thank you so much for her safe passage back home, Lord.
We thank you for, just thank you for everything you do, Lord, is good.
We thank you for your goodness, Father.
We love you, Lord, and we'll blast these things in Jesus' name today, Lord.
Amen.
