Episode Transcript
Alright, hello everybody.
Hope everybody's had a great week.
Before we get started right quick, I just want to say that uh It's such a blessing to come here, folks.
I love the fellowship that we have here at this uh at our church.
This is our church. here and I sure enjoy it.
This morning as I was getting ready for church I got to thinking I got thinking about yesterday.
I had such a wonderful day yesterday.
I got to spend all day with my wife.
Beat you burn the river.
And we got to go and do what, you know, I enjoy.
I enjoy. going out in in the sunshine and yesterday was just a wonderful day.
The wind wasn't too blowing too bad and I mean it was really nice calm day and my wife and I we got to go ride.
As I go riding, I enjoy, I think about my lesson, and I think about God's word, and I just get my mind cleared from things.
And uh and I got to thinking this morning as I was getting ready for church, folks, if If the good Lord was to take you right now, I was thinking to myself, if the good Lord was to take me right now.
I'm a victory in Jesus.
If the good Lord was to take me right now, did I enjoy my yesterday?
I heard an old old story.
So say your came from all the time.
Anyway, as we get into this lesson today, I heard about his groaning of his precious blood.
Then I repeated all one sentence.
And one note that everyone.
That was goodness, Jones.
Good job.
Time for the preacher.
She response me.
And well, we'll have a friend show.
With his reading Lord, being helped near I knew him, and all my love raised to him.
He wants me to do it.
We believe the clean season.
Thank you.
We give this back to the shoulders when you're ready for the next one.
Okay?
Alright.
Right now we're going to get into God's word.
So anyway, folks, what I was saying was, if the good Lord was to take you right now, did you enjoy your yesterday?
Yes.
Are you enjoying your today?
I hope so.
If you don't know Christ as your Savior, today, folks, I pray.
And I pray this morning.
That you will find Christ today through our lesson.
And God opens your eyes today.
I pray he will open your eyes today.
And I prayed about that this morning as I was getting ready for church today.
I can say that I enjoyed my yesterday and I enjoyed my today because I know where I'm going in tomorrow. if God was to take me.
And I want you to know where you are going if God takes you to.
And it's not a matter of if, it is a matter of when.
So folks, I pray and I ask God, please, I ask in this morning, please.
Our lesson today.
I pray to God that he would open your eyes today.
If you want to know Christ as your Savior, please Please, if you feel God drawing you, if you feel a pull on you, please see Christ while you still can.
Amen.
Okay.
I enjoyed my yesterday and I'm enjoying my today.
And if God takes me right now, I will enjoy my tomorrow.
And I want y'all to enjoy tomorrow.
I want you to lay down tonight and sleep in peace and not have that burden on your heart wondering where you're gonna go.
God calls you on to be judged.
And he's going to.
It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when.
So with that said, folks, I want you to know that if you don't know Christ as your Savior, I pray for you this morning. morning.
Amen.
So with that said, good afternoon everyone.
Good afternoon.
We have been going verse Verse by verse through the book of Jude, and last week we stopped in verse 19, where Jude has been giving us some traits of mockers or false teachers.
Now today, God willing, we will start expounding verse 20 in the book of Jude.
Hopefully everyone is there.
So let's start our reading in verse 17.
We'll start out in verse 2.
That's all right.
We need you.
Find verse 17.
We're going to start in verse 17 to help us stay in context and we will read through verse 20.
So everybody should be in the book of Jude right now at the verse 17 where we're going to start reading.
But beloved.
There's that word.
Beloved.
Now that's key.
I want y'all to remember that word.
But beloved.
Remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, how that they told you there should be mockers In the last time who should walk after their own ungodly lust.
These be they who separate themselves, sensual Having not the Spirit.
Now that Spirit's a capital S.
That's the Holy Spirit.
He says in verse 20 But ye beloved.
There's our word beloved again.
But ye beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith.
Praying in the Holy Ghost.
Heavenly Father, we thank you so much, Lord, for your precious word, Lord.
We thank you for each and every person that's come here today to hear your word, Lord.
And we pray, Lord, that you'll just bless each and every one of them, Father.
We pray, Lord, that you'll just let your spirit teach here today, Lord, and that the ears of those who are lost will be opened.
Today, Lord.
We pray for the laws, Father.
We pray that the saints are edified here today, Lord, by the teaching of your word, Lord.
And we just pray, Lord, that you would just have each and every ear open here today.
Lord.
We thank you for those who come faithfully, Lord, to hear your word, Father.
And Lord, we just pray that you just move here today.
Lord.
We love you and we thank you so much, Lord.
In Jesus' name we pray.
Amen.
Amen.
Alright, so Jude says here in verse 20, but ye loved.
How many people here or watching online know What the word ye means it means you, you Ye means you.
The word ye is translated from the Greek word hu-mais.
Hu mais, which means you.
The word ye can also be used to mean yourselves.
The word ye is very personal.
And it deals specifically with you as an individual.
In verse 19, Jude says, these be they Who separate themselves, sensual, having not the spirit, the mockers, Or false teachers choose to separate themselves, having not the Spirit, but ye beloved.
Do you see the difference?
Without the Spirit of God dwelling within you, folks, you might as well be a false teacher.
Because I have not read here in Jude yet, where the mockers are called beloved.
Without the Spirit of God dwelling within you, you are choosing to separate yourself.
From the love of our Heavenly Father, and you are not one of the beloved.
Now, does our Heavenly Father love the mockers?
Does our Heavenly Father love the drug addicts and the drunkard and gays and all the sinners in this whole world?
You better believe he does.
He loves each and every one of us so much.
That he allowed his only son to be butchered and ridiculed. and mocked and nailed to a cross and raised up so everyone who was there could see That was the only way the sins of all the people of the world could be paid for The Bible says the wages of sin is death, and Christ received those wages for you in your place.
At the crucifixion of Christ, while God's dear son was hanging on that cross, there were some who saw and still did not believe.
Why?
Because they did not want to.
They would rather choose to stay separated, sensual.
Like the mockers that Jude has been telling us about.
Die and go to a pit of fire rather than to swallow their pride and look to Christ and live.
Dear friend, does that describe you too?
Would you rather refuse to believe that Christ died for your sins in your place so that you can be forgiven?
And turn your back on the only saving grace that is offered to you as a gift from God.
Die and spend eternity in a pit of fire and misery because of your pride.
Vanity of vanities Don't allow Satan to keep you blinded, folks.
God will show you Christ if you want to see him.
If you want to be one of the beloved You can.
If you want to receive God's Holy Spirit and know that you are going to be with the Lord when you leave this old body, you can.
And the only way is through faith in Christ.
This should be taught more and more and more.
Let's turn and read Matthew chapter 27.
And there's other Places in the Bible that talks about it.
But this is where I wanted to go today.
Matthew chapter 27.
And we're going to talk about the crucifixion of Christ.
And I wish that everybody could talk about this.
I believe that more people would be pointed towards Christ if more people would talk about the death of Christ.
Amen.
Let's read Matthew 27 and start at verse 27.
And I pray for those who want to see today and want to become one of God's beloved.
Jesus says, no man cometh unto me unless the Father draw him.
Folks, like I said earlier.
If you feel that little tug, please don't ignore it.
Time is running out.
Matthew 27, verse 27.
This is after they had captured Jesus.
Or after Jesus allowed himself to be captured Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers.
And they stripped him.
This is our Savior, folks.
This is God's son.
And they stripped him and put on him a scarlet robe.
And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head and a reed in his right hand, and they bowed the knee before him and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews.
And they spit upon him and took the reed and smote him on the head.
Now it says here they took the reed, but it doesn't say anything about they took the crown of thorns off his head.
But it does say they smote him on the head.
So he still has his crown of thorns on his head.
And the word smoke gives us the idea of repeated blows with a stick.
They took a stick and hit him on the head with the crown of thorns on his head.
And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him and put his own raiment on him and led him away to crucify him.
Bye now, folks.
He's bleeding.
He's bloody.
He's got spit all over him.
He's been mocked.
He's been ridiculed.
And as they came out, they found a man of sirene, Simon by name.
Him they compelled to bear his cross.
Jesus was so weak from the beating and the suffering.
He couldn't carry the cross by himself.
He had to have help.
And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull.
They gave him vinegar to drink, mingled with gall.
Gall is another word for poison.
And when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.
And they crucified him, imparted his garments, casting lots, that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken by the prophet.
They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.
They gambled for his clothes.
And sitting down they watched him there.
Folks, are you sitting down watching?
Are you watching?
And set up over his head accusation written, this is Jesus the King of the Jews.
They had that all wrong.
He's not only the king of the Jews, folks.
He's the king of the Gentiles too.
Amen.
He is my king too.
Not only is he the king of the Jews, he is the king of glory, he is your king as well.
Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand and another on the left.
And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads and saying, Thou that destroys the temple and buildest it in three days, save thyself, if thou be the Son of God.
Come down from the cross.
They were looking for a sign.
They were looking for a sign.
Is that what you're looking for too?
Is a sign?
You looking for a sign?
He saved others.
Yes, he did.
He saved me.
Amen.
And he'll save you too.
Amen.
I jumped ahead. 41 says, likewise also the chief priest mocking him.
When the scribes and elders said, he saved others.
Himself he cannot save.
He could have saved himself.
But he stayed on that cross and died for you.
He stayed on that cross and he died for me.
He took all that punishment. for the whole world's sins.
This is the chief priest mocking him.
The scribes and elders, the ones that wrote God's word, mocking Jesus.
He saved others himself.
He cannot say.
If he be the king of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.
He came down from that cross, folks.
She did.
And he went to a tomb.
And on the third day he rose from that tomb.
He came down, just not the way they wanted him to.
He trusted in God.
Praise God that he did.
He trusted him.
He trusted in God.
Let him deliver him now, if he will save him.
For he said, I am the Son of God.
He didn't lie.
He was the perfect sacrifice, folks.
He did not lie.
He told the truth the whole time he was here.
The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.
They mocked Jesus as well.
They joined in with all the others that was around mocking Christ.
The man was on the cross dying.
God in the flesh was on the cross dying.
And here's those people making fun of him.
I don't see no compassion whatsoever.
None.
And I'm gonna tell you this world is getting there again.
It is turning to no compassion.
Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour.
And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, Lama Sabakhthinai, if I pronounced that right.
That is to say, my God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
God put your sins on Christ on that cross.
God the Father is holy, righteous.
He cannot have sins in his house.
All the sins that you've ever committed, that you committed today, and that you will commit tomorrow were placed on Christ on that cross God had to turn his back on his only son because of our sins placed on him.
Some of them that stood there when they heard that said, This man calleth for Elias And straightway one of them ran and took a sponge and filled it with vinegar and put it on a reed and gave him to drink.
The rest said, Let be.
Let us see whether Elias will come to save him.
Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
Jesus Christ went through a torture.
And if you don't know Jesus Christ as your Savior, Jesus Christ died for you.
He went through all of that.
And there's probably more.
We cannot even really imagine. what he had to go through in order to pay for our sin debt Jesus when he cried again with a loud voice, yield it up the ghost.
Jesus said in John 16, 7 Nevertheless, I tell you the truth, it is expedient for you that I go away.
For if I go not away, the comforter will not come unto you.
But if I depart, I will send him unto you.
John 15, 26, but when the comforter is come, Whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me.
John 15, 27, and ye also shall bear witness because ye have been with me from the beginning.
These false teachers, these mockers.
They do not bear the witness.
Why?
This is having not the Spirit.
But ye beloved.
Ye beloved, the beloved, have the Spirit of God.
Yes, amen.
If you love me, keep my commandments.
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another comforter.
That he may abide with you forever.
That's the Holy Spirit, folks.
John 14, 17, even the spirit of truth. whom the world cannot receive because it seeth him not The world does not have the Holy Spirit because the world refuses to believe in Christ as their Savior.
These mockers that Jude has been telling us about, these false teachers, refuse to believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior.
It seeth not the Holy Spirit, neither knoweth him.
But ye beloved, the beloved.
Ye know him, for he dwelleth with you and shall be in you.
Jesus says, I will not leave you comfortless.
I will come to you.
Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more, but ye see me, because I live, ye shall live also.
At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
Ha ha!
He that hath my commandments and keepeth them.
He it is that loveth me, and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father.
And I will love him and will manifest myself to him.
Judas saith unto him, Not as scary.
Why not as scary?
Because Judas is scary did not have the Holy Spirit dwelling in him.
Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us and not unto the world?
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words.
And my Father will love him, and we will come unto him and make our abode with him.
He that loveth me not, keepeth not my sayings, and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
But the comforter, which is the Holy Ghost Which is the Holy Ghost or Spirit, same thing, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things. and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Peace.
I leave with you.
My peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth Give I unto you.
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Folks, if you put your faith in Jesus Christ God sends his Holy Spirit to dwell within you.
God's Holy Spirit brings the peace of God with him when he comes to dwell within you.
God's Holy Spirit shows you there is life with the Holy Father, our Lord, after this life.
God's Holy Spirit will teach you, folks.
Peace I leave you.
My peace I give unto you.
Not as the world giveth, give I unto you.
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Folks, are you worried about where you're gonna wake up once you close your eyes forever here on this earth Someday this whole body is going to shut its eyes forever.
You will not open them again in this whole body.
Bible says to be absent from the Lord's be present.
Be absent from the bodies, be present with the Lord.
Jesus saith unto him in John 14, 6, I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No man cometh unto the Father but by me.
Now you either believe that is true or you don't If you believe that is true, you are one of the beloved of God.
And I look forward to the time we are going to be rejoicing with the Lord someday in his presence.
In our new bodies, in our new earth.
Amen.
But if you do not believe that Christ is the way, the truth, and the life, then ye, ye Shall have an eternity of misery in a lake of fire.
You can change that destination today, no matter how bad you think you have messed things up.
You think that you've done something that can't be forgiven.
God is all powerful, folks.
Amen.
God is more powerful than any sin you have ever committed.
If you think you are beyond forgiveness, you underestimate our God.
There is nothing he cannot do.
And there is no sin that was not paid for already by our Savior.
When Christ died on that cross, he died for every sin you have ever sinned and every sin you will ever commit.
Trust in the Lord and be saved, folks.
We'll close with Isaiah 26.
4.
Isaiah says, trust ye in the Lord forever.
For in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength.
Yes.
Woo!
Praise God.
Heavenly Father, we thank you so much, Lord, for this word that you bless us with, this lesson you bless us with today, Lord.
And we thank you for your word, Father.
Lord, I pray, Father, that if there's one here, Lord, that doesn't know Christ, Father, that you would draw them to the cross and show them Christ as their Savior, Lord.
Show them, Lord, that if they want to see, Lord, show them.
We pray, Lord, that they had ears to hear today, Father.
And we pray, Lord, that you would bless them with eyes to see.
Draw them to the cross, Lord, and I pray that they'll come to the cross, Father.
Lord, we want to pray for each and every person that's come here today, Lord, and we pray, Lord, that you'll just bless each and every one of them, Lord.
Thank you for the abundant blessings that you bestow upon us every day, Lord.
Thank you for the fellowship that we have here, Father.
It's such a blessing, Lord.
We just thank you so much, Father.
We're going to pray for those, Lord, who are too ill to get out of their beds and move and come, Lord.
The ones that want to be here, Father.
We pray, Lord, for them.
And Lord, we pray for the caregivers that are here, Father.
Pray that they would just take care of these folks here, Lord, as you want them to be taken care of.
We thank you for those you put in our life to encourage us, Lord.
And I pray that you will help us to be an encouragement to others, Lord.
Thank you for Brother Ray standing in, Lord, for Brother Larry.
And we want to pray for Brother Larry, Lord, and his wife and pray for their health issues as well, Father.
Thank you so much, Lord.
Thank you so much for Jesus, Lord.
Thank you for Jesus.
Thank you for your Holy Spirit, Father.
And we thank you for your word, Lord.
In Jesus' name, Lord, we pray today.
Amen.
