Alright, hello everybody. I know there's some people sick around here today, so I hope everybody can stay well. So anyway, we're going to be in the book of Jude today. And my notes say good afternoon, everyone. So good afternoon, everyone. What a blessing it is to see everybody. Y'all are such an encouragement. And it's just wonderful for y'all to be here out at the show. Y'all come to hear God's word. So last week we left off at verse 18 in the book of Jude. But to stay in context, we will start reading in verse 17, where Jude says in the book of Jude. He says, but beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, how that they told you there should be mockers in the last time who should walk. Walk after their own ungodly lust. Let's pray. Heavenly Father, we thank you so much, Lord, for each and every person that's come to hear your word here today. Lord, we thank you for your spirit, Lord, and we just pray, Lord, that you' Spirit will teach in here today, Father, and that each and every ear will be attended to your word, Father. We pray, Lord, that we learn today, Lord. And Father, we just want to pray for those who couldn't make it in here today because they're sick, Father. But we want to pray for your healing, Lord, according to your will, Father. And we thank you, and we love you so much, Father. Thank you for your word. Thank you for this lesson that you blessed us with, Father. And I pray, Lord, that you were just glorified here today. The lost repointed to Jesus. We thank you and love you, Lord. In Jesus' name, I pray amen. Amen. Alright, so Jude is pointing us to the words of the apostles who said that there would be. Mockers in the last time. Now, the word mocker means a derider, which is one who laughs at another in contempt. We used God's word last week to show how so many people mock. Christ when he went to the cross and died for their sins. As he was hanging on that cross, dying for their sins, they mocked him. While hanging in agony on the cross, the ungodly people. Of the world continued to mock him all the while he hung there dying for them, even though they refused to believe in him. I bet they believe now. Brother Adrian Rogers said, There are no Atheists in hell. They are all believers now. Too late for them, folks, but it doesn't have to be for you. If you are not a believer in Christ, you still have time. to accept Christ as your Savior. But you don't know when that time. Morrow, for what is your life? It is even of favor that appeareth for a little time and then vanisheth away. James says you don't know if tomorrow is going to come for you or not. And you don't know what will happen if it does. He compares our life here in this old world to a vapor. Some mornings when I get up to go to work, I will walk outside to get in my vehicle to go to work and the fog will be thick and it's hard to see the road. After a while though, the fog will be gone and I can see the road again. Our lives here in this temporary world are temporary lives that I thank God are temporary, and just like that fog that comes and goes, so do these lives. But God has been. Main a way for you to have a better life that is not temporary but eternal, and there will be no sin in that eternal life, no pain, no more tears, and no more suffering and misery. And if you will. Believe that Christ died for your sins, then you will inherit that eternal life. But if you refuse to believe that Christ died for your sins while you still have time, you are not going to enjoy. your eternity. You will be living in regret for eternity. Philippians 2. 8 says, And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore, God also hath highly exalted him and given him a name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow of things in heaven and things in earth. And things under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. You can either humble yourself now and agree with God the Father that Christ died for your sins. While you still have the option of forgiveness, or you can continue to laugh at the death of Christ and be a mocker and stand trial for your sins yourself. The choice is yours and yours alone to make. And I hope you choose Christ. We have a wonderful fellowship here, folks, which I so look forward to every Sunday, but it will be small in comparison. To the fellowship we will be having with our Lord when we see Him face to face for those who accept Him as their Savior. And I so want you to be there. Now we have gone over the definition of the word marker. Mocker, meaning a derider, as in one who laughs at another in contempt. But the word mocker can also mean a deceiver or an imposter. Have you ever heard of a mockingbird? Yeah. I want to give you the old Webster's dictionary definition of mockingbird. Folks, a little bit of something I've learned. If you're going to look up biblical words, you need an old dictionary. Them old dick words, definitions change over time. Very good. So if you get you an older one, like if the further back you can go, the better off you are. I think mine is like, what is it, 1896 or something? Really? Yeah, I got an old one. I got an old one. It's about this thick. Is that new? No. No. It's something like that. 1901, 1900, it's late 1800s or early 1900s. No, I was, God blessed me with that dictionary and I Tell you what, I use it. With a mockingbird in it? Yes, ma'am. That's what we're fixing to read right here: the definition of a mockingbird. This is the definition of my old Webster's dictionary. Of a mockingbird, an American singing bird, Mimus Pumpi turdide. It is of an ashy brown or a gray color above, lighter below, and is much sought for an account of its wonderful faculty of imitating the cries or notes of almost every species of Animal, as well as many noises that are produced artificially. Its own notes form a beautiful and varied strain. Now, Jude says here in verse 18 that the apostle said that. that there should be mockers in the last time. The definition of the word mockingbird says that it is much sought for an account of its wonder faculty of imitating the cries or notes of almost every species of animal. as well as many noises that are produced artificially. Its own notes form a beautiful and varied strain. When a false teacher spreads false doctrine To people who want to know the truth, they don't realize that what they are doing, what they are being told is wrong. The people who want to know the truth don't realize that that bird sings. Such a wonderful song in the tree behind the limb that they can't see is not the red bird or the blue bird making that wonderful sound to them, but a mockingbird impersonating those other birds. When that limb, that that When that limb that is in the way is removed, though, and people realize that was not a red bird or a blue bird that was making that song, but an imposter, they start to quail. What the truth is, as well as we should. Sadly, though, sometimes the limb never gets removed, and some people die believing that mockingbird was something it wasn't. Sometimes the limb can be removed, and people can see that mockingbird. They can see that it's not a red bird or a blue bird, but the sounds that that mockingbird is making are just so pleasant to hear that they just continue. To listen to the impersonation of the other birds. 2 Timothy 4:3 says, For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts shall they heat to themselves. teachers having itching ears and they shall turn away their ears from the truth and shall be turned unto fables. That word fable means fiction, not true. When you discover that mockingbird is impersonating the birds you thought you were listening to and you want to hear what the real birds sound like, please find a real red bird or a real blue bird. And compare the sounds. Don't just sit there and continue to listen to the impersonation. Find the truth, folks, especially if you don't know what a red bird or a bluebird sounds like. When you do, The next time you hear that old mockingbird up in that tree behind that limb screaming out, that sound of the red bird or the bluebird, you will think, hey, that kind of sounds like a red bird or maybe a bluebird. But that kind of sounds like a red bird or a blue bird, but I bet it's a mockingbird because it does not sound exactly right. When you read God's Word and Start to learn it, you begin to spot false teachers because what they say is not exactly right. What they are saying is not lining up with what God says. False teachers are deceivers, and you You have to learn the difference between their song, their song that they are singing, and the song that the true preacher of God's Word is singing. Please, folks, read your Bibles and learn of God. Please. Jesus said in Matthew 11, 29, take my yoke upon you and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart. for your souls. Some other verses that tell us about false teachers are Acts 20 verse 29. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you. Not sparing the flock also of your own self shall men arise, speaking perverse things to draw away disciples after them. If something were to happen to me, folks. And they bring in a new pastor. If that pastor is not pointing you to God's word and Christ as your Savior, they are grievous wolves seeking innocent sheep to devour and And please don't fall for it. Please learn to spot the difference. Read your Bibles, please. 1 Timothy 4:1. Now the Spirit speaketh expressly. That in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, speaking wise in hypocrisy, having their conscience seared with a hot iron. That word hypocrisy is just another word for deceit. The word seared with a hot iron gives us the idea of to render unsensitive. And that is a very dangerous place to be. They see that it is a mockingbird making the sounds of different birds, but they still want to believe it is different birds making the sounds. They don't care that it is a mockingbird. Oh, that sounds like a bird. Like a bluebird. It must be a bluebird. Some people hear the truth but refuse to believe the truth because of something a false teacher has said to them before, and they refuse to believe what the truth really is. Their conscience is seared with a hot iron and they go on to tell others falsehoods and hypocrisies. False teachers. If you're telling others false information, About God's word. Guess what? You are now a false teacher as well. 2 Timothy 3:1. This know also that in the last days perilous times shall come, for men shall be lovers of. Their own selves, covetous boasters, proud blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthinkful, unholy, without natural affection, truth-breakers, false accusations. Accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good. Traitors, heedy, high-minded, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God, having a form of God. Godliness, but denying the power thereof, he says, from such, turn away. That's right, brother, stay away. Turn away. The word form, you Here means appearance. It looks like a mockingbird. I mean, it looks like a blue bird. It's in the shape of a bird, but it's really a mockingbird. The word denying. means to contradict. A false teacher will contradict what God's word says. That's why it's so important that you know your Bible, folks. If you have any doubt of what I say or what any pastor says. You open this up right here and you go to it and you look, please, for your sakes. Look. Look. Approve the word, please. If I'm saying something that you don't, sometimes I make a mistake. But as soon as I find out I make a mistake, guess what? Brother Doug's up here in tears, apologize. I'm only human just like y'all. I make mistakes too. But I do not need to. I never want to do that. And by God's grace, I never will. I don't want to do that. Breaks my heart when I. Accidentally say something I don't wish I would have said. But sometimes, this right here, this right here, you know, we're supposed to be like the word denying means to contradict. That looks like a bird. That sounds like a bluebird. That mockingbird must be a bluebird. This is happening today, folks. False teachers are spreading like wildfire, and people are just welcoming. Welcoming them. They're welcoming them in with open arms. Oh, come on in. They're sitting there listening to the false teaching. The children of today are being fed so many lives. Lies and we need to stand up and tell them the truth. Churches are allowing false doctrine to flow from their pulpits by false teachers and recording their lies on the internet today. To spread to others, and one day they will pay for all that they have done. But unfortunately, all the people who fell victim to the false teachers will too. They'll have to pay too. Once you're being judged before Christ, there's no turning back. 2 Peter 2:1. But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privileges shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them. Bring upon themselves swift destruction. Folks, did you know that you're paid for? You have been bought with a price. Jesus Christ shed His blood to pay for your sins. He paid for you. The kind of thing you've got to do is believe. Ye have been paid for. Any and many shall follow. their pernicious ways. Pernicious ways, that means ruin or loss, destruction, damnable ways. By reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. They're not going to tell you the truth. Jesus Christ died for your sins. They took him off that cross and he was put in a tomb and on the third day he rose up out of that tomb, folks. That is the gospel right there. He died for your sins. He rose out of that tomb on the third day. Praise God. That is the truth. False teacher is not going to tell you that. If they do, They're going to add something to it. For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, not by works. It is the gift of God. What is a gift? A gift is something given to you, isn't it? A gift is given to you. Jesus Christ gave you forgiveness. All you got to do is believe it. It's a gift. If you pay for it, it's no longer a gift, is it? It's the gift of God. The gift of God. And through covetousness shall they with fain words make merchandise of you. False teachers want your money, folks. That's what a false teacher is doing. He's trying to give you money. Why? Through covetousness. Shall they with fain words make merchandise of you, whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not? And they Oh, uh, let's see. Hold on. Second gentleman. You got Miss Ports? Yeah. You got it. Good. Y'all are along over here. 2 John 1. 7 for many deceivers are entered into the world. False teachers, deceivers. Devil's a deceiver, isn't he? Amen. Who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver. And an antichrist. Antichrist means against Christ. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. Look to yourselves that we lose not those things which we have wrought. But that we receive a full reward. Whosoever transgresseth and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, if there, I don't want to specify, if there come any. Any, you could underline that, if there come any unto you and bring not this doctrine. Receive him not into your house, neither bid him Godspeed. For he that biddeth him Godspeed is partaker of his evil deeds. Amen. Folks, if you're telling others false doctrine, that makes you a false teacher. Please, Jesus Christ died for your sins. Put your faith in that. I have. I have never believed something so much in my whole entire life. Jesus Christ died for my sins. Now I'm telling you that. That's not false doctrine. That's not a false teacher. Jesus Christ died for your sins. I could say that all day long. If you're going to tell anybody anything, you tell them Jesus Christ died for your sins. Jesus Christ died for your sins. Heavenly Father, we thank you so much, Lord. This wonderful word that you've blessed us with, Lord. We thank you for this lesson that you blessed us with, Father. We thank you, Lord, for all that come to hear your word. Lord, we sure thank you for Jesus. We thank you for your Holy Spirit. And we thank you for your word again, Lord. Oh, Lord, what a blessing it is to know Christ, Father. And Lord, we pray that each and every person here will tell others about Christ, Lord. Jesus Christ died for our sins, Lord. What a blessing it is to know that, Lord. We want to pray for those who don't know it, Lord. We want to pray, Lord, that you'll draw them to the cross and show them Christ, Father. Show them Jesus dying on that cross for them. Thank you, Keith. Father, we just thank you so much, Lord. Father, we want to pray for those who are sick. And ill and can't come today, Lord. That want to be here, Father, but they can't come because they're sick and ill, Lord. We pray. For your will to be done in our healing, Lord. I want to pray for the caregivers that are here, Father, that you would just help them to care for these folks, Lord, the way you ought to be taken care of, Father. We thank you and we love you so much, Lord. Thank you for the fellowship that we have here, Lord. But we know, Father, the fellowship that we're going to have when we see you face to face, Lord, is going to be. Wonderful, Lord. Yes, thank you, Lord. Thank you so much, Lord. I ask these things in Jesus' precious and holy name, Father. Thank you so much. Amen.
