Alright, hello everybody on the out there in the computer land, internet land.
This is gonna be our accompanying verses right here for Jude Lesson. 95 verse 21.
So we're moving right along in the book of Jude.
Here we go.
Everybody gotta This five heaven I will meet you on a beautiful store.
Where the charming roses bloom forever.
And where separations come no more If we never meet again, this side of heaven, I will meet you on a beautiful shore.
If you know Christ as your Savior.
Amen.
All right.
So good afternoon, everyone.
George, good to see you again, sir.
Good to see you.
And everybody else.
Good to see y'all too.
We have been going through the book of Jude, verse by verse.
And last week we stopped at verse 21.
We touched on it a little bit. little bit.
Where Jude says, now we're in the book of Jude, verse 21, where Jude says, keep yourselves in the love of God.
Looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
Let's pray.
Heavenly Father, we thank you so much, Lord, for each and every person that's come to hear your word, Father.
Lord, we pray, Lord, as we've gathered here, Lord, to hear your word, Father, that you would just teach us here today, Lord.
Let your spirit move here today and teach us, Father We're so thankful for Jesus.
We thank you for your Holy Spirit and we thank you for your wonderful and precious word, Lord.
Thank you so much, Father.
In Jesus' name we pray.
Amen.
Okay, so Jude says, keep yourselves in the love of God.
Wow.
I had thought about this and thought about it.
And I thought, well, the best way to start off here is just start off with the words.
What do the words mean?
So the word keep Translated from the Greek word tereo, used here means to guard from loss or injury.
Properly by keeping the eye upon.
Keeping the eye upon.
Now, when we keep our eye on something, what are we doing?
We are watching it, aren't we?
We're watching it when we keep our eye on something.
The word keep.
Can also be used to mean to prevent from escape, such as in Luke chapter 8, or I'm sorry, Luke chapter 2, verse 8.
Where God says, and there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
What I'm wanting to show you here is there's different ways that words are used in God's Word.
There's different meanings, okay?
So We do not keep ourselves in the love of God.
And I want you to see that the word keep here does not mean that you are responsible for keeping yourself in the love of God.
And he says here in Luke 2:8, this is another way to use the word keep.
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
Now in this verse, what time of day is it?
Nighttime.
What do you suppose would happen to one of the flock If it wandered off from the rest of the fold in a land filled with hungry predators, easy meal for a predator to get one of the fold by itself.
Used here in Luke chapter 2 verse 8, we can see the words keeping watch. gives us the idea that the shepherds were guarding the fold, keeping them from leaving the protection of the shepherds.
Now in Matthew chapter 27, verses 62 through 66 we read, this is another way to use the word Jesus.
Now, the next day that followed the day of the preparations, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate.
Now, this is taking place after Jesus has been. crucified and laid in the tomb.
Okay.
And it says, this is what the chief priests said when they came under Pilate.
Jesus is now in the tomb.
They said, saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, after three days I will rise again.
Praise God.
Command therefore that the sepulcher, that's where Jesus was laid in the tomb, be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night and Steal him away and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead, so the last error shall be worse than the first.
Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch.
Go your way, make it as sure as ye can.
So they went and made the sepulcher sure, sealing the stone and setting a watch.
Why did the chief priests and the Pharisees want to set a watch over the tomb of our Savior to make sure he stayed in there and did not come out?
They wanted to guard against his escape from the sepulcher.
Now we went through those verses to show you that words can be used in different things.
They can have different meanings.
When Jude says, keep yourselves in the love of God This does not mean God will ever stop loving you if you make a mistake and wander away from the path He wants you on.
It means to be aware if you start wandering away.
Keep an eye on your prayer life.
Keep an eye on your quiet time with the Lord.
Keep an eye on your Bible reading.
Keep an eye on your attitude with others.
Keep an eye on listening to false teachers like Jude has been warning us about throughout this whole book of Jude.
Jude has been telling us about false teachers.
Keep an eye on that.
Keep yourselves in the love of God.
Don't be listening to false teachers teachers.
Keep an eye on keep an eye on listening to false teachers like Judah's been warning us about and we could go on and on and on.
In Genesis 2. 15, after God had created Adam, the verse says, And the Lord God took the man and put him into the Garden of Eden. to dress it and to keep it.
Used here the word keep means guard or protect Adam failed to do this, but even though Adam failed, God still loved him.
Amen.
God never stopped loving Adam and Eve.
Even though They dropped the ball in the Garden of Eden.
Now, why is Jude telling us this?
Why is Jude telling us to keep ourselves in the love of God?
Because 1 Peter 5. 8 says, be sober, be vigilant.
Because your adversary, the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about seeking who he may devour.
Can anyone tell me what the words be vigilant means?
Very good, camera lady.
It means to keep awake.
Watch.
Watch Watch.
The key to keeping yourselves in the love of God is found in the previous verse in Jew.
And this is one of the reasons why keeping God's word in context is so important.
Look at the previous verse In the book of Jude, at the words, building up yourselves on your most holy faith.
Praying in the Holy Ghost.
Once you have trusted in Christ as your Savior, you have a most holy faith.
And there is no separation from that most holy faith.
God keeps you from then on folks.
God will not let you go and nothing can take you out from his love.
John 6. 37 says, and that all that this is Jesus talking, all that the Father giveth me Shall come to me.
And him that cometh to me, I will in no wise cast out.
You're not going to lose your faith your salvation, folks, if you make a mistake.
You're not going to take yourselves out of the love of God.
Jesus says, for I came down from heaven not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
And this is the Father's will which hath sent me.
That of all which he hath given me, I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and here's the kicker, and believeth on him. may have everlasting life, and I will raise him up at the last day.
In the book of John, chapter 10, verse 27 through 30, Jesus says, My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
And I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish.
Neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
Do you think you're stronger than God?
You're not.
You're not going to mess up your salvation if you make them stay folks keep yourselves in the love of God he's you once you accept Jesus Christ as your savior you're in the love of God folks He says, My Father which gave them me is greater than all, and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
I and my father are one.
God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit of God.
That is three.
You have three into one.
One God, three different parts.
Nothing can take you out of the love of God, not even yourself.
So, Christian, please don't ever think that you can make God stop loving you.
Just keep an eye out.
For if you start wandering away.
The closer you draw to God, the closer he will draw to you.
And you will grow in love with God more and more. day by day, minute by minute, looking forward to the day when you get to look upon his face and be with him forever.
And it is all through that holy faith, the gospel of Christ.
Where is that song?
Oh I want to see him look upon his face There to sing forever of the saving grace on the streets of glory.
Let me lift my voice Cares all past home at last ever to rejoice.
That's right.
Zephaniah 3. 17, the Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty.
How is God in the midst of thee?
Through faith in Christ, through the holy Spirit.
When you put your faith in Christ, God is in the midst of you.
He will save He will rejoice over thee with joy.
He will rest in his love.
He will joy over thee with singing.
We will close today with Romans chapter 8, verses 35 through 39, and we got y'all marked there, Miss Becky.
Romans 8, 35 through 39.
The Apostle Paul says, Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
Shall tribulation or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or apparel or sword?
As it is written, for thy sake, we are killed all the day long.
We are counted as sheep for the slaughter.
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
God loved us first, folks.
Amen.
God loved us first.
For I am persuaded that neither death Nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature. shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
If you have received Christ as your Savior, you have received the love of God.
You think that God is going to discard his son?
No.
God is not going to discard you if you make a mistake.
Have you received the love of God?
Psalms 212.
Kiss the son, lest he be angry and ye perish from the way.
When his wrath is kindled but a little.
Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
Folks, he says keep yourselves in the love of God.
Once you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, you are in the love of God.
You cannot lose your salvation.
Don't be thinking that you're gonna mess it up.
We all make mistakes And Adam and Eve made a mistake and God still loved them.
You can also look at Jonah.
Jonah with the opposite way God told him to go.
It's all throughout the Bible.
You can see all different apostles.
Peter.
Peter made a mistake.
He denied Christ.
Christ didn't stop loving him.
Just because you make a mistake, folks, don't think you're taken out of the love of God, okay?
I just want y'all to know that I want you to know that you know that.
There's nothing you have done that is too terrible that can't be forgiven.
Christ died for every sin you ever committed.
Not just a few.
If you died for every don't think you can be forgiven.
You don't know my God.
He is all powerful.
And that means all powerful.
He is greater than any sin you've ever Heavenly Father, we thank you so much, Lord, for this lesson that you blessed us with.
Come here, Lord, and share it.
And Lord, we just pray, Lord, for understanding.
Pray, people. understood.
Lord, we pray if there's somebody here thinking that they can't be forgiven, Father, we pray that you would just you would just show them, Lord, that they can.
Draw them to the cross and show them Christ, Father.
Lord, we thank you so much, Lord, for all that you do.
Lord, for all you do is good.
We thank you for Jesus.
We thank you for your Holy Spirit.
We thank you for for your word lord we thank you for those who come here and help Lord and we thank you for the ones that come to hear your word father and I pray that the saints will edify your today through the teaching of your word, Lord.
And I pray that the laws were pointed to you by the teaching of your word, Father.
For by grace are we saved through faith, Father.
And that none of ourselves.
It's all you, Lord.
We sure thank you for Jesus, Father.
And in his name we pray today, Lord, we also want to pray for the caregivers that are here.
Want to pray for the sick, Lord, who are too sick. can get out of their beds that want to be here, Lord, and can't come, Lord, because they're sick.
Lord I want to pray for Brother Larry, Lord, and his family and pray for your will to be done in their healing. and pray for each and every person that's come here today, Lord.
We just pray, Lord, that you would just bless each and every one of them, Father.
We thank you and we love you so much, Lord.
In Jesus' name we pray.
Amen
