Alright, so good afternoon everyone. Good afternoon. Last week we stopped our study of the book of Jude in verse 16. where Jude says, these are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts, and their mouth speaketh great swelling words. having men's persons in ad because of advantage. Now when Jude says these Here in verse 16, he is referring to all the ungodly sinners who have not trusted in the one who has already paid their sin debt. We are all sinners, folks. But through faith in Christ we are forgiven sinners. Christ sacrificed him for our sin debt. a cross where he received our punishment for our s in order that we don't have to receive the punishment that we deserve. Christ was judged here on earth by an ungodly judge with an ungodly jury. Who were being watched the whole time by a holy and righteous, all-powerful Father in heaven who saw everything that these ungodly sinners did to his precious Son. Who received their wrath and their torture. Now, verse 14 here in the book of Jude says that our Lord is coming back with 10,000 of his saints. And verse 15 says, to execute judgment upon all. When our Lord returns with his saints, there will be a godly judge with a godly jury this time. The ones who have believed that God's precious Son did not die on that old cross in vain, but that he gave his life in order that they will be forgiven of all their sins. will be set free. John 8. 3 says, If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. Not guilty. Amen. But for the ones who refuse the gift of freedom from our Lord. The stiff-necked people who refuse to believe. Repent of their sins. The ones who choose to remain ungodly sinners will have to receive the wrath of a Heavenly Father who witnessed. What the ungodly did to his son on his day of earthly judgment by the ungodly. The wrath that our Savior received for them, they turned their backs to, not believing. And therefore the ungodly will be condemned. John 3: says, He that believeth on him is not condemned. But he that believeth not is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God The un, un, unbelievers are the ones who Jude is referring to in verse 16 when he says these. Jude says, these are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts. And last week we used the example of quarrel. Who complained about Moses, who God had put in charge to lead the children of Israel? Korah sowed the seed of discontent by murmuring. among his brethren in order to raise himself up. And do y'all remember what happened to him and all those who followed him? The Lord opened up the earth and swallowed him and his family and all his belongings and all those that followed him and all their families and their belongings. Be careful who you follow, folks. These people who followed Korah followed him all the way down that hole that opened up in the earth. And from what we read last week, we did not read anything. About a man with a ladder for them to return. One man 's murmurings cost many souls their lives. If who you are listening to does not point you to the way, the truth, and the life, then I would suggest you stop listening to those people while you still have time. Jude has been telling us about these types of people who are just walking after their own lusts, as our verse here in Jude 16 says. The word lust means a long or des. It comes from a Greek word that means to set the heart upon or covet. Kor lusted after more p. He had set his heart upon getting it. He desired it, and he made the choice to murmur against the one who God had given the power to. Korah allowed his fleshly lusts to cost him and the ones who chose to listen to him their lives. Three types of worldly lust, folks. 1 John 2: says, For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh. And the lust of the eyes and the pride of life is not of the Father, but is of the world. The lust of the flesh seeks sensual gratification. The lust of the eyes desires to possess things we see or imagine in our mind's eye. The pride of life seeks self-exaltation and worldly status. Let's look at Genesis chapter 3, verses 1 through 6. And read about how Adam and Eve fell prey to listening to someone who pointed them away from God because of his own lust. Genesis chapter 3 verse 1 and we got y'all marked there in the blue f. Genesis chapter 3, verse 1. We've got you marked here, right? Chapter 3, verse 1. You got it in this work, we got your mark there that. That little blue sticky note there in the top. No, ma'am, the blue sticky note, the blue. Look at the very top bird. Okay. The very first one. I almost had it. You almost have it. You'll get it. You got your finger on it. There you go. You getting it. Yeah, you got it. All right, this works. Good job. Genesis:. Now we're looking at the three temptations here The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life Genesis 3. 1 says, Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said. Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden. He asks you that as a question. Hath God said ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? There is that little seed. Didn't God say that you could eat of every tree of the garden? He's planting a little seed there. That's just what Kor did. He planted that seed. That's what these ungodly teachers do. They plant that seed. Genesis 3. 2 says, And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit. Of the trees of the garden. Genesis 3:3, but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden. God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die. Now that little seed that was planted It's starting to grow. It's starting to grow now. Why? Because it is allowed to grow. That seed should have never been able to take root. When Korah was sowing the seed of discontent among his brethren, if his brethren would have simply said, Kor. God has said, instead of letting Kor keep on nurturing that seed of discontent It would have never taken root. And if Eve would have said to the serpent, I just told you, God has said we would. If Eve would have stood up to the devil and told him, I just told you, God said. Then that seed that the serpent was play never would have taken root. Genesis 3. For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened. And ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. That is the serpent talking to Eve. What is that? That is pride of life. That is seeking world status. Ye shall be as gods. And if you're looking at the scriptures, you notice the G is a small little G. Ye shall be his gods. There's not the one God, folks. That's a capital G-. Amen. God, one God. Genesis 3, 6, And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof and did eat. and gave also unto her husband with her and he did eat lust of the eyes and the lust of the flesh A and Eve fell for the murmuring of the serpent. Those who died with Korah fell for his murmurings. Let's close today with Philippians 2, 14 and 15, which says, Do all things without murmurings and disput. The word disputing is used here means discussion or consideration. God told Adam and Eve, do not eat of the tree which is in the midst. Or the center of the garden. When that old serpent starts trying to get into your head, folks, you just tell him, God said. And leave it at that. If Eve would have just simply said, but God said, when Jesus was tempted of the devil, Every time the devil tempted Jesus, God pointed him to God. I mean Jesus pointed him to God's word. Thou shalt not live by bread alone. It is according to the scriptures. Jesus always pointed the devil back to God's Word. And folks, that's what you have to do when that devil starts getting in your mind. P him to God's word. Philippians 2.15 says, that ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God without rebuke. In the midst of a crooked and perver nation, folks, we live. In a crooked and a perverse nation. This old world is crooked and perverse. And it says, Among whom ye shine as lights in the world. If you know Jesus Christ as your Savior, you have the light dwelling within you. The Bible says, Let your light so shine before men that your Father in heaven We'll be glorified. We'll see him be glorified. Folks, don't hide your light under a bush and let it shine. And we do that by not arguing, by not disputing. Don't sit there and contemplate when that old devil gets in your mind and starts getting in you and trying to mess with your head like he did even. Just keep that in mind. And the devil will mess with your mind. Amen. I guarantee you, if you know Jesus as your Savior, he's going to mess with you even more. Heavenly Father, we thank you so much, Lord, for this time that you have blessed us with, Lord, to share your word, Father. Father, we pray, Lord, that the people that come, Lord, were appointed to you today, Father. We pray, Lord, that you would glorify here today, Father. Lord, we just thank you so much, Lord, for this lesson that you blessed us with to share with the people who come to hear it, Lord, and the ones who tune in and watch it on the internet, Lord. We thank you, Lord, for all that you do, Father. For all you do is good, Lord. Your word says to resist the devil and he will flee, Father. Your word doesn't say to sit there and talk with him. It says to resist you, Lord. Help us to point the devil to you, Father, when he does come tempting, Lord. We thank you so much, Lord. What a blessing it is to know Jesus as our Savior, Father, when we pray for those who don't know Christ as their Savior, Lord. We thank you and we love you, Lord, so much, Father. Thank you for your Holy Spirit and thank you for your word, Lord. We pray that you'll help us stay the path that you want us to be on, God, and help us to point people to you, Lord. We thank you and love you. And in Jesus' name, Lord, we pray amen.
