Well hello everybody again.
Hello.
Hello, Miss Charlotte.
How's Don?
Is it Don?
And this room not feeling good.
It's not feeling good.
Did you get taken care of before doctor?
Yeah.
Okay.
I might come by and say hello.
Is he wait?
Okay.
I might come by and say hello and way out.
That's okay.
Thank you.
Well Alright everybody, good afternoon, everybody.
That's one way to help.
That's it.
We've been going through the book of Jude.
And for the last few Sundays, we have been discussing mercy and compassion.
Jude tells us to be looking.
For the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life in verse 21.
Let's read that and we're gonna get started today.
Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
Let's pray.
Heavenly Father Thank you so much, Lord, for this bigger room that you blessed us with, Lord, to come and to share your word, Father.
And Lord, we just pray, Lord, that you'll just teach us here today.
Teach each and every person that wants to learn, Father.
Each and every person that takes the time out of their day to get closer to you, Father, we pray that you'll just let your spirit teach us here today.
Father.
We thank you so much for each and every person that's come, Lord.
We know, Lord, that you love each and every person here, Father.
And we just pray, Lord, that the saints are edified today, Lord, through this lesson that you blessed us, Lord.
We'll pray in Jesus' name today, Lord.
Amen.
Alright, so the words looking for means to awake with confidence or patience.
For those of us who have believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, we are waiting with confidence and patience in his return to claim his redeemed.
There is nothing that can stop him.
Not even our death from claiming what is his.
The Apostle Paul says in 1 Thessalonians Chapter 4, 13 through 18, and I got you marked non and Miss Charlotte.
I mean I didn't so I'm sorry I didn't get yours marked, but we'll get you there right quick.
1 Thessalonians.
What do we say chapter 4?
First Thessalonians chapter 4 and I believe we'll do was it 13?
Yes, 13.
We're gonna start right there.
And I believe we've got everybody else in Marshall and had a Bible.
1 Thessalonians chapter 4 verses 13 through 18.
1 Thessalonians 4. 13 says, this is Paul talking to us.
Through the inspiration of God now.
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep.
That ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
Folks without Jesus Christ have no hope.
They're simply here living a life, waiting to die, nothing after that.
Those who have placed their faith in Christ are looking.
They're looking to be resurrected by God.
They're going to be resurrected and living with Jesus Christ for eternity.
Folks, that is our hope.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again Even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord.
That means it's true, folks.
That is truth.
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain, Unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
Jesus cannot be stopped from claiming those who are his, folks.
Amen.
You're not gonna stop it.
That is God's word.
That is truth.
You cannot stop it.
For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God, and the dead in Christ shall rise first.
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.
And so shall we ever be with the Lord.
What does that mean?
That means forever.
Forever.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
When we know that we are forgiven of our sins because God's dear son paid the price for us, then Jude says in verse 22, and of some have compassion.
There was a time when I did not know Christ as my Savior.
Now, praise God, I do.
And I now, and now that I do I want you to know Christ as your Savior too.
God has opened my eyes to the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ.
And now I want you to know as well.
And each and every believer in Christ should have compassion on others as well.
Every believer in Christ should be telling others about Christ.
You don't have to be a preacher in order to tell someone else that God loves them and gave his only begotten Son for their sins.
If you know it, say it with me, folks.
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son.
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
How many of y'all in here are preachers?
There you go.
We had one, we got two people in here that are preachers.
The rest of y'all were.
You see what you just did?
You sit there and you told me about it.
See, you don't have to be a preacher in order to tell somebody that God loves him so much that he gave his only begotten son for them.
You don't have to go to a seminary.
You don't have to have a title on the wall.
But you can tell people that Jesus Christ died for their sins.
That didn't hurt a bit, did it?
As a matter of fact, as I was watching y'all doing that, you were smiling.
I was watching you smile when you did that.
I'm not a bullet preacher, but I'm you know I'm a preacher to that.
Whoever I come upon.
That's good.
That's what that's what you're supposed to do.
That's good.
It didn't hurt a bit saying that, did it?
No.
Just make her shake her head.
No.
That was fun, wasn't it?
Yeah, it was fun.
And I want to tell you folks, those of you that know Christ as your Savior.
You're not going to have no more fun than it ever could be than showing somebody and talking and telling them about Jesus Christ You want to get lit up really well, you watch somebody come to Christ.
You watch somebody believe in Jesus as their Savior.
There's no greater joy.
I love sitting down with people, opening up God's word with them and letting them read God's word.
And you watch that light click and you're, oh, it's just so wonderful.
One of the best joys that I could ever think of.
I used to think I used was having fun.
And then I put my faith in Jesus Christ.
Now I'm having fun, folks.
Doesn't cost a penny.
Didn't cost you nothing to do that.
Jude says at the end of verse 22 Making a difference.
He says in verse 22, and if some have compassion, making a difference.
This gives us the idea of to separate thoroughly or discern.
Know the difference between Now I originally thought that this may have meant different types of compassion For different situations.
And I guess maybe in a way it still does.
It still could.
But this may also mean to know the difference Between those who are saved And those who are not.
Because Jude goes on to say in verse 23.
And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garments spotted by the flesh.
There are some people who want to be filled with God's word and hear about his loving kindness and mercy and just can't wait to learn of him and his ways.
And get close to him.
And then you have some people who just reject God and don't want anything to do with him and his word.
Have y'all ever met people like that just don't want nothing to do with God's word?
Yes.
I have been telling people about Christ And I'll have there'll be two people.
I've been talking to one and I'll start they asking me how what's happened to me.
This is back when I first got saved.
Doug, what's happened to you?
How come you change?
What caused you to change?
And I start telling them about Jesus Christ.
One guy stays, the other one walks off.
Don't want nothing to do with it.
That's just amazing to me.
Some people want to know about God Some people want to know how to be saved.
Some people just want to shun it.
Don't want nothing to do with it.
And I warranty there's going to be a price for those who pay it that don't want nothing to do with it.
They just don't think about what tomorrow may bring.
I think that is what Jude is saying when he says making a difference.
Those that know Christ as their Savior already know about how they were rescued from the fire.
But those that don't know Christ as their Savior need to be told Psalms 11, 5 and 6.
The Lord trieth the righteous, but the wicked and him that loveth violence, his soul hateth.
Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire, and brimstone, and an horrible tempest.
This shall be the portion of their cup.
Psalm 21. 8, thine hand shall find out all thine enemies.
Thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.
Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger The Lord shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.
Jesus said in Matthew chapter 13, verses 41 through 43.
The Son of Man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out in his kingdom all things that offend.
And them which do iniquity.
Those that don't want to know God as their Savior are still in their sins.
They are covered in their sins.
They are known by their iniquity.
Jesus goes on to say, and shall cast them into a furnace of fire.
There shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their father.
Who had ears to hear?
Let him hear.
If you're here today and you don't know Christ as your Savior, I pray God will open up your ears to hear this.
I pray that you know Christ as your Savior.
If you do not know Christ as your Savior, there is a fiery pit waiting for you on the other side of this life.
I don't want you to die without knowing Christ as your Savior.
Because you will spend an eternity.
That means forever.
Not just a brief time we get to spend in these fleshly bodies, but forever, eternity, in a lake of fire and torment.
Constant pain and torture, so much so that you will be gnashing or grinding your teeth because of the pain.
That's how painful.
You're going to be gnashing on your teeth because of the pain Those who have ears, please hear.
God's word does not lie.
This is truth.
Those that don't know Christ as their Savior either don't want to, have not been told about Christ.
Have shunned God, ignored God when He has called them.
Oh, I'm all right, I'll be okay.
This right here says you're going to be in a pit of fire, gnashing your teeth, for the pain is so bad.
You're not going to be okay.
Not without Jesus Christ.
Matthew 13, 47, Jesus tells a wonderful story.
He says, again.
The kingdom of heaven is like unto a net that was cast into the sea and gathered of every kind.
When my dad goes, used to go fishing a lot, he doesn't go as much as he used to.
He has a net, a big old net.
And he'll take that net and he gets it ready and he gathers it and he throws it out in the lake.
And whatever that net falls over, it's got lead weights on the bottom.
It closes and it captures whatever's inside of that net.
Daddy, when he pulls that up.
He might have a bunch of little old shad in there he could use to fish with.
He might have a log.
He might have a snapping turf.
I hope he don't ever catch an alligator.
But whatever's in that net is captured.
He cannot escape.
Daddy's got him.
Jesus says the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net that was cast into the sea and gathered of every kind.
When that net is cast, everyone is going to be caught in it.
The unbelievers and the believers.
He goes on and says, which when it was full, they drew to shore and sat down and gathered the good. into vessels, but cast the bad away.
I want you to notice here there's a separation.
There's a separation between the good and the bad.
They kept the good.
They cast out the bad.
So shall it be at the end of the world.
The angels shall come forth and sever the wicked from among the just.
The sheep from the goats.
The good from the bad.
The righteous from the unrighteous.
The forgiven from the ones who are still in their sin.
And shall cast them into the furnace of fire.
The wicked.
There shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Jude says, and others say with fear, pulling them out of the fire.
Now I have just pointed you to some of God's word that tells you about how life will be for you after death. without knowing Jesus Christ as your Savior.
While God has given you the opportunity to know Him.
For those who refuse God's love through his son, you will experience what the Bible calls the second death.
Revelation 21:8.
But the fearful And unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars shall have their part. in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.
That is all the people who have refused to be forgiven by God and die in their sins.
But oh the mercy and compassion given to those who have believed in Christ as their Savior.
They have no part In the second death.
None.
No part in the second death.
Praise God.
Revelation 2.
11.
He that had an ear to hear.
Here we go hearing again, folks.
He that had an ear to hear.
Let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.
How do you overcome the second day?
He that overcometh Well, Brother Doug, how do you overcome?
Haha, I'm glad you asked.
By being born again through faith in Christ.
1 John 5, 4 and 5, 5, and we'll close.
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world.
And this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
Who is he that overcometh the world?
But he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God.
Heavenly Father, we thank you so much, Lord, for your precious word, Lord.
We thank you for those you put in our lives to encourage us, Father.
We thank you, Lord, for this lesson that you blessed us with here today, Lord.
Lord, we thank you for this bigger area that you blessed us with to come and hear your word, Lord.
Thank you so much, Father.
Lord, help us to be an encouragement to others and share Jesus with others, folks.
Help us to share Jesus with others, Lord.
Help us to share, Lord.
Tell others about how Jesus died for their sins, Father.
Tell others, Lord, so they won't just give them a chance, Father, to believe or not to believe.
Help us, Lord, to do that.
Bless us with the courage that we need, Father, to step up. and share Jesus with other people.
Father, we thank you so much, Lord, for each and every person that's come to hear your word, Lord.
Father, we want to pray for those who can't come, Lord, because they can't get out of bed, Father.
We want to pray for those who just shun your word, who don't want nothing to do with it, Lord.
We pray that you just won't give up on them, Lord.
But we know, Father, that there comes a time, Lord, when it's already done, Lord.
We thank you so much, Lord, for all that you do, Lord, for all you do is good, Father.
We want to pray for Don's recovery, Lord, from his surgery, Lord, and pray for Brother Larry, Lord, and his family father, our song leader.
Just thank you so much for Ray stepping up.
And leading the songs for us, Father.
We thank you so much for him, Lord.
Thank you, thank you.
Thank you for him bringing his wife forward to come Hear your word, called.
Thank you for the camera lady, Father.
And we thank you just so much, Lord, for all you do for us, Lord.
Thank you for another day, Father.
In Jesus' name we pray, Lord.
Amen
