Alright, good afternoon everybody.
Good afternoon.
Good, good.
Okay.
Okay, we have made it to the last verse in the book of Jude, which is verse 25, where Jude says To the only wise God, our Savior, be glory and majesty Dominion and powers both now and ever Amen.
Heavenly Father, thank you so much, Lord, for this lesson that you bless us with here today, Lord.
Father, we're so grateful for those who come to hear your word, Father.
And I pray, Lord, that you'll just set aside, remove the distractions. here today, Lord, and just let us have fellowship and learn your word today, Father.
Just teach us your word here today, Lord.
We thank you and we love you so much, Lord.
And in Jesus' name we Pray Lord.
Amen.
Amen.
Amen.
Jude is finishing up his letter here.
By identifying our God and Savior as wives Jude says to the only wise God, our Savior.
The word wise is translated from the Greek word sophis.
Sophas, meaning clear.
Our God is clear, meaning free from darkness or opacity.
Brilliant, light, luminous.
Here's that song we sang a while ago.
Unclouded.
Not obscured.
Our God is clear, folks.
No darkness in Him 1 John 1, 6 through 10.
This then is the message which we have heard of him and declare unto you that God is Light and in him is no darkness at all.
If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in darkness We lie and do not the truth, but if we walk in the light as he is in the light, We have fellowship one with another.
And the blood of Jesus Christ as his son cleanses us from all sin.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
Isaiah 50 verse 10.
Who is among you that feareth the Lord, that obeyeth the voice of his servant?
that walketh in darkness and hath no light.
Let him trust in the name of the Lord and stay upon his God.
The word stay used here comes from a Hebrew word that means to support oneself.
Lean on or rely on.
When things get bad, folks, who is your state?
Who are you leaning on or relying on to help you?
Isaiah is telling us through the inspiration of God Himself that if you are trusting in the one and only wise God who has no darkness in him at all, that when the darkness creeps up upon you, and it will, darkness creeps up on all of us.
And when he does, Isaiah is telling us to look to the only wise God, our Savior, for support.
When Christ went to the cross to die for our sins, he trusted in the only wise God.
Luke 23, 44 through 47 says, and it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.
And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple Was rent in the midst.
And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit.
And having said thus, he gave up the ghost.
Now when the centurion saw What was done?
He glorified God, saying, certainly, this was a righteous man.
He glorified God, which brings us to our next word, which we went over last week.
Jude says, to the only wise God, our Savior, be glory.
Now last week we said the word glory means dignity.
Honor, praise, worship.
When God opens your eyes to the death of Christ, on the cross for payment in full for your sins.
You can't help but glorify God just like this centurion did.
Why?
Because he is the king of glory.
Psalms 24. 7 through 10.
Lift up your heads, O ye gates, and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors, and the king of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of Glory?
The Lord strong and mighty.
The Lord mighty in battle.
Lift up your heads, O ye gates, even lift them up, ye everlasting doors, and the king of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of Glory?
The Lord of hosts.
He is the King of Glory.
Sila.
Jesus said, Behold, I stand at the door and knock.
If any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come into him and will sup with him and he with me.
Our Lord is the King of glory, folks.
And Jude says not only be glory to our only wise God, our Savior, but majesty, which means his greatness.
Psalms 21, 5.
His glory is great in thy salvation.
Honor and majesty hast thou laid upon him.
Thy, Psalm 77, 13, thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary.
Who is so great a God as our God?
The answer is no one else.
Acts 4.
12.
Neither is there salvation in any other.
For there is none other name under heaven given among men.
Whereby we must be saved.
Hebrews 1. 1 through 4.
God, who at sunrise times in a diverse manner spake in time past. unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by his son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things. heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds, who being in the brightness of his glory and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself That's very important, folks, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the majesty on high.
By himself he purged our sins.
It doesn't say with your help, it says by himself purged our sins. our sins.
Not by any works that you have done, folks.
For by grace are you saved through faith and that not of yourself.
Ha!
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
It is the gift of God, folks.
The gift of God.
Jesus did it all by himself.
By himself.
Purged our sins.
What do we do when we purge something?
We remove it, don't we?
We remove it.
Woo!
Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they Jude says not only glory and majesty, but dominion be to our only wise God, our Savior as well.
This word dominion Used here gives us the idea of his great power or strength.
The Apostle Paul said in Ephesians 1.
15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and love unto all the saints, Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers.
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ The Father of glory may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened, that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.
And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us who believe according to the working of his mighty power?
which he wrought in Christ when he raised from the dead and set him at his own right hand in heavenly places.
Far above all principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come.
The only wise God, our Savior, is more powerful than every name that is named.
Not only in this world, but the one to come, which he will rule over as our Lord and King.
For those of you who know Jesus.
And finally, Jude says to the only wise God, our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power.
The word power used here gives us the idea of ability.
Ability.
Our God has majesty, which has glory.
What good is it if you have majesty but no glory?
Or glory without majesty.
Our Lord has both.
And the same goes for dominion, if without power.
Our Lord has the dominion and the ability or the power to rule over all.
Jesus said in Matthew 28, 18.
All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Folks, as we come to the close of this book, I want you to know that.
Christ gives you the power through your faith to be adopted into the family of God where you are forgiven of all your sins.
And at your last day here in this fleshly body, you will be raised again to life eternal with a loving God who cares for you and always will.
John 1, 12.
But as many as received him, not denied him.
As many as have received him.
To them, the ones who receive Christ, Gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe On his name.
When you believe, you receive it.
John 1. 13, which were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
God is the one who draws you to the cross, folks.
God is the one who opens your eyes to Christ.
God is the one that shows you Christ dying for your sins. on that cross in order that you can be forgiven.
Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness.
His righteousness Is Christ.
Seek Christmas.
It is to this very same God that Jude closes his letter by saying.
To the only wise God our Savior be glory and majesty, dominion and power.
How long?
Both now.
And ever.
That's not going away.
Now and ever.
That does not change It will never change.
That's what Jude says when he finishes his letter.
Amen.
Amen.
I agree with you, Lord.
Amen.
I agree with you, Lord.
Amen.
Wow.
Folks, as I was looking down here a while ago, I was looking at the rain coming down.
And I thought, well, thank you, Lord, for the rain.
And then as I looked at the rainfall, and I was telling God, thank you for the rain.
I was looking at the grass growing and the trees growing and getting green.
All that's growing because God was giving rain.
God has given us his word.
He wants you to grow in this.
I want you to grow in this.
I pray God that will make me, he will just teach through me.
I want God to teach his word through me.
And I can't tell you what an encouragement each and every one of y'all are every time you come.
That makes me want to study more.
It makes me want to show up every Sunday and share God's word with you.
I want y'all to grow in this.
God wants you to grow in his word.
And I thank y'all so much for coming and staying with me through this whole entire book of you.
And I pray that the next book we get in, we can just keep growing and growing.
I pray that God will draw each and every one of us closer to Him.
And He does that through His Word.
Thank y'all for the encouragement that you have been to me through this book.
This is our very first book together that we've gotten through.
And I was looking for God willing to even teach some more books here.
Thank y'all so much for coming.
I pray we continue to learn.
Heavenly Father, thank you so much, Lord.
Thank you for each and every person that comes, Father.
And I pray, Lord, that the saints are edified, Father, and that the laws are pointed to you, Lord.
Lord, we just want to grow and grow and draw closer to you, Father.
And I pray, Lord, that you'll just continue to teach us, Lord, and your word will continue to go forth here, Father.
Lord, we thank you for those who come to be an encouragement, Lord.
Lord, I pray, Father, that you'll just work through us to be an encouragement to others, Lord.
Lord, it's such a blessing to be overcome, Father.
We thank you for allowing us to come here, Lord, and share your word.
We pray, Lord, that you are glorified here today, Lord.
And Lord, we want to pray for those who want to be here and that can't be here, Father, because they can't get out of their beds, Lord, to be here.
We pray, Lord, that you'll just be with them.
Let them know you're there to this time, Lord.
And Father, I just pray, Lord, for someone here that doesn't know Christ as their Savior, Father, that they'll see you before it's too late, Lord, before they're ones that they're laying in that bed and can't move to, Father.
We thank you for those who tune in on the internet, Lord, for watching.
We pray, Lord, that each and every one of them are blessed, Lord.
Lord, it's just such a blessing, Lord, to know Jesus is our Savior, Father.
And I shall pray for them that don't.
And Lord, we just pray for guidance on where you want us to go from here, Lord.
Open my mind to where you want to go next, Lord, and teach us, Father.
Thank you, Lord, for all that you do, Lord.
All you do is good, Lord.
Lord, we just pray all the glory to you, Father.
We thank you and we love you, Lord.
Thank you for Brother Ray standing in and leads singing, Father.
Thank you for camera lady coming and helping, Father.
We just thank you and love you so much, Lord.
In Jesus' name, Lord, we pray here today, Lord.
Amen.
