All right, hello everybody. There we go, thumbs up, that means it's okay I guess. So here we go, this is gonna be the verse we're gonna go over. There we are, we good? All right. Uh-oh. All right, so I have titled this lesson, The Deer of Death, and we're gonna see why as we go on into it, but this is what I've titled it, The Deer of Death. We're gonna be in the book of Jude, and this is going to be verse, we're gonna regress just a little bit. We're gonna go back to verse 14 in the book of Jude. When I jump ahead of myself, I love it when the Lord says, "Hey, there's something more back here "I want you to talk about." So this is what we're gonna go back, just a little bit here to book of verse 14. So last week, we discussed the beginning of verse 15 in the book of Jude. And after I asked God to help me with this lesson, and I was thinking about it, I had a thought come to my mind. Let's pray. Heavenly Father, we thank you so much, Lord, for your wonderful word that you have blessed us with, Father. I pray, Lord, that you'll just let your spirit teach us here today, Lord, and that the ears will be open and the people will be attentive, Father, and they will hear your word taught, Lord, and that you'll be glorified here today, Lord. Thank you so much, Lord, for Jesus. In his name today we pray, Lord, amen. Amen. There was a thought that came to my mind after I talked to the Lord about it. I always try to pray before I start my lesson. And the thought that came to my mind was, there are so many people who do not believe in Christ as their Savior. Christ is not only our Savior, folks, but He is the supreme in authority. Supreme in authority. At my job, I have people over me who have people over them, who have people over them, all the way to the top of the company that I work for. And at the very top, those people, more than likely, have people over them through shareholders and people that own more stock than others in the company. Now that's a lot of stuff that I really don't wanna investigate. I don't have time to fool with all that. But my point here is that no matter how big a boss you think you are, there's somebody over you, okay? You're not the last, you're not the supreme in authority. Our Lord is the supreme in authority. My point here is that no matter how high you climb in the world's system of hierarchy, you still have someone over you, and that is our Lord Jesus Christ. Regardless if you believe or don't believe in Christ as your Savior, he is still supreme in authority, and he still laid down his life for you on the cross. So with that said, let's look back at verse 14 and then we will pick back up in verse 15 next week, God willing. Okay, verse 14 in the book of Jude. And Enoch also the seventh from Adam prophesied of these saying, "Behold, the Lord cometh with 10,000 of his saints." Now I kind of jumped over "behold" and "the Lord" here, so we're backtracking just a little bit and we're going to pick that up today. Now "behold," the word "behold" right here, it means "see." "See." "To fix the eyes upon." "To see with attention." "To see with attention." "Behold." Now yesterday I was blessed to get to ride for a little while. I enjoyed taking my old scooter out for a putt, as us old school bikers say. And as I was riding, I would glance around at the scenery, looking at the trees and the pastures with the cows grazing and watching those little calves jump and hop around out there in the pasture. I enjoy watching all that. And I'm looking at cows that be looking at me, you know. That's fun for me. I enjoy doing that. It's relaxing. And I enjoy it. I enjoy getting out in nature and checking things out. Now at 70 miles per hour, on a motorcycle, all you have time for is a brief glance of those things. You have to behold the road you are traveling, or you could get hurt real quick. I see heads shaking. You have to fix your eyes upon that road and observe it. And I am so glad I did, because I was boogieing down a back road yesterday to go meet with the camera lady. (bells ringing) Anyway, I was boogieing down the road to go meet with the camera lady. She had to work yesterday and I was gonna go meet her, so I rode on the scooter up there to go meet her. Now, I was boogieing down the back road yesterday to go meet her, and a big old doe walked right out into the road in front of me. It's a true story. A big old doe just walked right out in the road in front of me. She just casually walked right out in my path and watched me coming at her. Fortunately, neither one of us panicked. And I slowed down, and she sped up and ran to the other side of the road and jumped the fence, and we both went about our day not hurt from that encounter. Now what do you suppose might have happened if I just simply kept my head turned and my eyes looking at the scenery instead of beholding the road in front of me? That could have ended up in tragedy for both the deer and myself. So many people are living their lives, the life that God has given them, running full blast, looking at the scenery and not paying attention to the road they're on and what's coming. Folks, when God says, "Behold," in His Word, you better pay attention to what He is saying. God is not telling you to set your eyes upon something that is going to hurt you. But He is only trying to keep you from hitting that deer that is going to walk out in front of you someday and that deer is dead. He is just trying to save you and if you don't listen to Him and accept His only begotten Son as your Savior, you will run right into that deer because you did not behold what God told you to. When John the Baptist saw Jesus coming through the inspiration of God, John wanted everyone to see. And he said in the book of John chapter 1 verse 29, the next day John sent Jesus coming unto him and said, "Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world." I too want you to behold the Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world. And if you know Christ as your Savior, you want others to behold the Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world. But only you can cast your eyes upon Him. No one can force you to look. You can either have a stiff neck and continue to look out at the scenery and eventually hit that deer and suffer the second death and live an eternity in a place where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth and torment, or you can turn your neck and cast your eyes upon Jesus. And when that deer of death walks out in front of you, you will avoid the second death and live with Christ for an eternity where he will wipe away every tear and there will be no pain and suffering. Behold the Lamb of God, folks, before that deer walks out in front of you. Now back in verse 14, Jude says, "Behold the Lord." The word Lord with a capital L and a small o-r-d comes from the Greek word kourios, kourios, and it's spelled k-u-r-i-o-s in the Greek language. And it means supreme in authority, supreme in authority. That is as high as it gets, folks. No one is above our Lord, folks. No matter what worldly job title you may be called, not even if you own your own business and you are the go-to person to answer all the questions and make all the decisions, our Lord is still the one with the final say-so in everything. And he will always be the supreme in authority. Let's look at John chapter 3 verses 33 through 36. And we have that on Mark. Got Mark there. Don, you got Mark right here. John 33. We're going to be reading. John 3, 33. Here we go right there. 33. Got it, Thomas? You got Miss Mary, need some help? Yeah. Yeah. Yep, you need help or nope, you don't? No, I'm good. John 3.33, now remember now, Jesus is supreme in authority. Yes, he is. John 3.33 says, "He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true." If you have cast your eyes on the death of God's beloved Son, hanging on the cross, beating and bruising, shedding His precious blood for your sins, and believing that He did that for your sins, then you have put your faith in what God says is true. Hebrews 11, 6 says, "But without faith it is impossible to please Him. For he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. John 3.34 For he whom God has sent speaketh the words of God, for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. Speaking of Jesus. God came in the flesh as Christ, the Son bearing the Holy Spirit, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. 335, the Father loveth the Son and hath given all things into his hand. He has given all things into his hand, supreme in authority. One God, three equal persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, all supreme in authority because they are all one. 336, he that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life. And he that believeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him. The reward you will receive for believing that Christ died for your sins is totally the opposite of the reward you will receive for not believing. These words could not be made any more plain than that. I'm going to read it again. "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life." Do you want everlasting life, folks? When this life is over with, don't you want to know that you're going to be with the Lord for eternity? He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life. And on the flip side of that coin, he that believeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him. And we're going to get a little more into that, God willing, next week when we start talking about the ungodly deeds. And verse 15, we are all traveling down the highway of life. Every one of us, every one of us, we are born, we live our lives, we travel on down the life, the highway of life. That's what we're doing right now, folks. We're traveling down the highway of life. Today, that deer of death is going to walk out in front of everyone. It's going to walk out in front of the camera lady, it's going to walk out in front of your preacher, it's going to walk out in front of everyone. What you are looking at is going to decide your fate. For those who have not cast their eyes upon the cross and believed, the wrath of God is going to be upon them and they will die the second death. Revelation 21 says, but the fearful and unbelieving, and you can underline that if you want to, but the fearful and unbelieving and the abominable and murderers and whoremongers and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. For those of us who have cast our eyes upon the cross and believe, when the deer of death steps in our path, we will be raised up to be with the Lord. Romans 8.8. We've got that in Mark too. There you go Don, you got it. Romans 8.8. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. In the flesh. Ungodly. Carnally minded. She's not talking about... We're all in the flesh in a certain point, but they're talking about ungodly. Carnally minded. You're not thinking about God is not in your thoughts. You're thinking the worldly ways. You're not thinking about God. "But ye are not in the flesh," those who have put their faith in Christ, "but ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit. If so," and that's Spirits with a capital S, "if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, He is none of His. He is none of His. You put your faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior, God sends His Spirit to live with your spirit, God sees that, hey, they believe, that person believed in what I'm telling them. His Spirit dwells with our spirit. God looks and says, "I have my spirit." Now if any man have not the spirit of Christ, he is none of his. Unbelievers do not have the spirit of Christ. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin. But the spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you. 1 Corinthians 6.14 and we'll close. And God hath both raised up the Lord and will also raise up us by His own power. Folks, God's not going to let you stay in the grave. The second death is for those who don't believe in Christ. The wrath of God is upon the ones who do not believe God. For those that believe, the love of God, the life of God is upon you. When that fear of death comes out in front of you and it's time to, God's going to raise you back up to live with Him forever and ever, folks, in eternity. And I tell you what, I'm not trying to rush it. I don't want to run into no deers on the road. But when that time comes, if I would have hit that deer, my wife knows where Brother Doug's going to be. And I hope y'all know where Brother Doug's going to be if I hit a deer on that road and he kills me. Brother Doug believes that Jesus Christ died for his sins. Heavenly Father, we thank you so much, Lord, for each and every person who's come, Lord. And Father, we pray for those who don't know Christ as their Savior, Lord. We pray, Lord, that you would just draw 'em to the cross, Father, and open their eyes to Christ, Lord, while there's still time to do that. Before that dear death comes before all of us, Lord, we pray for those who do not know Christ as their Savior, Lord. We sure thank you for this lesson that you've blessed us with, Lord, share with others, Father. And we pray, Lord, that you are glorified here today, Lord. We pray you are glorified and that the people were appointed to Jesus today, Lord. Lord, we just thank you so much, Father. We pray that the caregivers here will take care of these people, Lord, as you would want them taken care of. We wanna pray for those who are sick, Lord. Pray your will be done in their healing. And Lord, we pray for those with upcoming surgeries coming up, Lord. We just pray, Lord, for you healing in that too, Lord. Father, we want to thank you so much, Lord, for Don being able to come back, Lord, and for Thomas being able to come back, Father. And we just thank you, Lord. Thank you for your word. We love you. Thank you, Father. Thank you for the brother Larry and his wife coming, Lord, to help us sing. And we thank you for the camera lady, Lord, and the camera wearer, Father. You sure is a big help when they come, Lord. We just thank you, Lord, for all that you do. Lord, for all you do is good. In Jesus' name we pray, Lord, amen. - Amen.
