Alright, hello everybody. These are going to be our vers here. Now you see numbers, it says 16, 1 and all. We might not do all of them, depends on how everybody's holding up time we get to that. But if we don't do all of them, go back and read that, and it falls right into what we're teaching on today. And it's really good. So that's our accompanying versus Eric for today. So here we go. Folks, I can't tell y'all how blessed I am. I can go to have one of the worst weeks I've ever had in my life and I can come to church and it just changes my whole attitude, my outlook. It just is such a blessing to be here with each and every one of y'all today. And it's an encouragement to me when y 'all show up to hear God's word. And I just can't tell you how grateful I am for that. This ministry has been one of the great blessings in my whole life. So thank y'all for coming to hear God's word. All right, ma'am, you ready? Here we go. All right, we're going to be in the book of Jude and we're going to continue on what we've been teaching on. Book of Jude. And today, we're going to be picking up in verse 16, God will. But we're going to do what we always do, and we're going to recap just a little bit and understand context of what we're teaching. And by the way, if I haven't met you yet, my name is Doug Sexton, and I have been blessed to be the pastor here today. I tell you what, I can't tell you all how much I enjoy it. It's just a blessing to me. So with that said, let's get to my notes and let's get started here. My notes start off by saying good afternoon, everyone. All right. We left off in verse 15 of Jude last week discussing the hard speeches or dry speeches that ungodly sinners have spoken against our Lord. Speeches that do not point people to our Lord and Savior, but are given by the ungodly that are looking for someone to give them a handout. So that they can squander that handout on their own personal wants. These are the types of people Jude has been warning us about. You might be saying, brother Doug, that is hate speech. No, that's not hate speech, folks. The hate speech is what the ungodly sinners are speaking. You, in order to use you for everything that they can, and then move on to the next poor soul who falls for what they are saying to them. That is hate speech. The hate speech is what the ungodly sinner is speaking in order to point you away from eternal life with our Lord and Savior. That is hate speech. When I was a child, my parents told me not to do certain things because those things would harm me. Why? Because they lo me and did not want me to get hurt. They did not charge me for that information, nor did they tell me false information and ask for my allowance back. Why? Because they love me, and on a side note, they still do love me, and they want to see me succeed. A true servant of the Lord loves you and does not want to see you get hurt by spending eternity in torture and misery. A true servant of the Lord is going to tell you the truth and does not ask for your allowance when they do. When Jesus was preparing his 12 apostles to go and share the gospel, he did not tell them to ask for the people's money. And in fact, he told them to leave behind certain items in order that they see that the Lord will provide what they needed. Let's pray. Heavenly Father, we thank you so much, Lord, for your precious word that you have blessed us with, Father. Lord, we pray, Lord, that you will help us to see those that do not. Teach your word, Father, and that are in it for their own lusts and greed, Father. Help us to discern, Lord. Help us to discern. We thank you and love you, Father, and we're so grateful for each and every person that's come to hear your word. Thank you for the encouragement that they bring, Father. And help me to be an encouragement to them through your word here today. Help me to point them to you, Father. We thank you, Lord, and we love you. And thank you for Jesus so much, Father. Thank you for your spirit, Lord. And we pray, Lord, that you'll just let your spirit teach us here today. We thank you and we love you, Father. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Amen. Okay, so with that said, folks. Let's look at Matthew chapter 10, verses 5 through 10. Matthew should be an easy one to find. I've got everybody, Mark, somebody drop their pen here. That's right. I got your mark here. Matthew, you found it. Here you go in his work. Matthew. We're going to be starting at 10. We're going to start at verse 5 right here. Matthew 10, verse 5. Y'all got it? We like to have everybody's eyes on God's Word. Good morning, man, or good afternoon. I'm sorry, good afternoon. She got it for you. All right. Now we're going to set this up a little bit. When Jesus was sending his disciples out to go preach the gospel, he told them not to bring certain things with him. Matthew chapter 10 verse 5. He says, these 12 Jesus sent forth and commanded them saying, this is Jesus fix to start talking here. Go not into the way of the Gentiles and into any city of Samaritans. Enter ye not. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Why did he tell them that? Because the Lord already had someone picked out to go to the Gentiles and the Samaritans. The Lord is always ahead of us. And knows what is going to happen before we do. The Lord is o. That big fancy word means He knows all things and He knows what we need. And what we don't need, and we have to learn to trust Him with that. We have to trust the Lord, folks. We have to learn how to trust the Lord. Jesus told him, he says, and as ye go, preach, saying, the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils. Freely ye have received. Freely ye have received. Freely give. Now the ungodly. People here giving the ungodly speeches, they're not doing it for free, folks. They're wanting your money. They're wanting something from you. Jesus says, freely ye have received, freely give. He says, provide neither gold nor silver nor brass in your purses, nor script for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet stays for the workmen. worthy of his meat. One of the things I enjoy is watching my Lord supply my needs. Man, I can't tell you what a blessing that is when that happens. When we were asked to come and share God's word with you, I was told that nobody would come because all they wanted to be paid. All of them wanted to be paid to come here. And in hindsight, that is probably a blessing to each and every person who comes here to hear God's word because they may have been the very people that Jude is warning us about. When we first came, we had no song books. We had no song books. None. I was taking, I had an old songbook at home. I would copy down songs on my copier, and I would bring a stack of papers up here so we would have songs to sing. When we first came here, we did not have a song leader. Now we have two. Two. We did not have Bibles to give to those who want one and say they will read them now. We can get them when they are needed. And I can go on and on. We didn't have a podium when I first started here. I was holding it, holding my Bible, and then we had a little table that they let us use. Now we got a podium, folks. Let's see. We do not have B to give those who want them. And let me say, I'm sorry I got off my notes a little bit. And I can go on and on, but what I am trying to tell you is that I believe my Lord will provide what we need to share his word. I have not asked for a penny from anybody since we have started coming here. None. I have never mentioned the word none of that. God has laid on people's hearts to give in support of this ministry. And I want to tell each and every person who has given, thank you very much. Thank you very much. To each and every person. Thank you very much. And y'all know who you are. Folks, the people, some of the people watching, some of the people here have helped buy the song books. They have donated to buy the pod. Now they haven't been paying the song leaders, but God will pay them back, I promise you. When we get to heaven, God's going to pay them back. I promise you. God will pay each and every person back. That helps to support a true ministry. I firmly believe that. I believe it. God has laid on people's hearts to give in support of this ministry, and I want to tell each and every person who has given thank you, and your help is greatly appreciated. God has been so gracious to us and I want to give back freely just like Jesus has instructed and trust in him to provide. It's fun for me to watch God work, folks. I love watching God work. The ungodly do not trust that God will provide. They have gone in the way of Cain. And ran greedily after the heir of Balaam. So we're here in the book of Jude. Let's look back at verses 11 through 13 in the book of Jude. Verses 11 through 13 in the book of Jude. Woe unto them, Jude says, talking about the ungodly speech givers. Woe unto them, for they have gone in the way of Cain. What does that mean? We covered this before. Cain and Abel. Abel did it the way God asked for it to be done. He came to God with the blood. Cain wanted to do it his way. He came bearing fruits of the earth. Sinful fruits of the earth grown in sinful ground of this old sinful earth. Abel did it the way God asked by bringing the blood atonement. Cain did not. Cain wanted to do it his way, same way as these ungodly teachers. He says, woe unto them, for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the heir of Balaam for reward. These ungodly teachers are running for the money, folks. They're running after the heir of Bal for your ward. All they 're after is your money. And per in the gang of Cor. These are spots in your feast of charity when they feast with you. Feeding themselves without fear, they don't fear the Lord. There's no reverence of God there. They're in it for themselves. Clouds, they are without water, but that's where we get our dry speeches, our hard speeches. They're talking, but they're not producing no moisture. Carried about of winds. Trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots. When the Lord comes back, folks, to judge. Twice dead. That means destruction. No chance of coming back. Raging waves of the sea foaming out their own shame. Wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever. Ungodly People talking bad, talking wrong about God. They're not giving you what you need. They are ungodly speech givers. Now let's go ahead and pick up in our verses for today. The verses 14 and 15 tell us that all will be judged by the Lord. The ones found guilty or ungodly will be convicted. Now, look here with me in verse 15 of the book of Jude, and let's start our lesson for today. Okay, verse 15 says, and we've covered this a lot, to execute judgment upon all. And to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against them. Verse 16. These are murmurs, complainers, walking after their own lusts. And their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of adv. These are murmurs. What is a murmur? The Greek word, this is fun here, is gong. Gong gust in the Greek and means a grumbler. A grumbler. Now if we look at the very next word here in our text, we get an idea of what a grumbler is. Our next word is what? Complainer, complain. But the idea here is they do it in a low tone of voice. They only want a few people to hear. Why? Because a small seed can grow into a giant oak over a period of time. All it takes is for just a few people to get on board with the seed of discontent for it to grow into a large issue. And if you don't believe that, just look at all the riots we have had lately. Murmurs, complainers. Who sow the seed of discontent and disrupt people's lives by destroying their property that they have worked hard for. Instead of these murmurs getting a job and going to work, they choose to grumble and complain in the streets that those of us who have worked paid taxes on to build and maintain so we can get back and forth to work on. They choose to block and picket and disrupt. Murmurs, complainers. Now, this is my personal opinion. In my opinion, these people who do this Should be given their own island somewhere away from those of us who wish to live a quiet and peaceable life So that they can riot and complain and protest all they want on their own little island. They can do all that, all they want. And when the Lord returns, that is what is going to happen. Only they will be given a pit to complain in instead of an island. The dictionary definition of the word murmur is to grumble, to complain, to utter sullen discontent with, at, or against. God has put people over us for his purpose. Sometimes we lose touch with that and God reminds us. Now when we are reminded, we should not murmur or complain, and that is very hard for us to do because we live in a sinful flesh. Which wants everything our way and we must learn that God's way is the best When we murmur or complain about our situation, we are basically telling God that he doesn't know what he is doing. And I think we lose sight of that sometimes. Folks, since I've been coming here, there is less people. I don't recall. In my mind, I can't remember anybody in here complaining. There is more people out there in this whole world who can walk around, get out of bed, do whatever, that complain more than the people in this room that can't get out of their chair, that can't move. They can't function properly. I hear more complaining out there in this world than I do in this place right here. I can't tell you, I tell y'all so much what a blessing it is for me to come here. And that's one of the reasons right there. Because I don't have to listen to all the grumbling, mumbling, complaining out there. And I tell people sometimes, if you would just come with me to the nursing home one time. It would change your whole life. It would change your outlook on life. Of course, this is after I tell them about Jesus, but I tell them, come with me one time. When we murmur or complain about our situation, we are basically telling God that He doesn't know what He is doing. And I think that sometimes we lose sight of that. And it's easy to lose sight of that in this old flesh, folks. This old flesh wants it our way now and when things interrupt that we get irritable I tell you what, I get mostly irritable when I get tired. I get tired, I get grumbly, I get irritable. My poor wife has to put up with me sometimes. That's a mess too sometimes, and I hate it when I do that. God had put Moses in charge of the children of Israel, and one of them didn't like it. He thought he should be in charge. And so he started planting that little seed of discontent by murmuring to some of the others in the camp. And soon that seed grew and grew until the Lord uprooted that unfruitful tree by the roots. And all of those who stood in that shade of that discontent and that murmuring, the ones that stood in that shade of that unfruitful tree, they're uprooted as well. Now it's rather long, but it's a wonderful lesson of how the Lord is in charge. And we should not murmur or complain about our situation. So with that, we Probably won't be able to read all of it, but we're going to touch on some of it. If it goes fast enough, then we might read all of it. And I would like to read all of it, but it's a little long, so y'all bear with me. So let's all turn to the book of Numbers. And we will close with this today. Numbers chapter 16, please. Chapter 16, and we're going to start in verse 1. First one. Numbers chapter 16. We're going to start right here in verse 1. That's right, yes, sir. All right. Hello, Miss Pet. I think she's coming in. Come on in, Miss Betty. That's okay, you come on in. We're gonna win numbers. And you think you find numbers, Captain 16? We're about to wrap it up. Numbers chapter 16, yes, sir. Verse 1. We're going to talk about people that complain and murmur. Bell. Bell, riot in the street, cause turmoil. Complaining against God? Numbers chapter 16, verse 1. Can you find it, Miss Bacon? He m. Numbers, yes, ma'am. Ch what? Sixteen. Sixt. Okay. Now Korah, the son of Is, the son of Ko, the son of Levi and Dath and Abor, the sons of Eliab And on the son of Pele, sons of Reuben took men. They took men. Now let me ask you this, folks. How are they going to take men? If the men aren't willing to follow, if they're not willing to follow, you're not going to take me. And they rose up before Moses. Y'all remember Moses? He was the one God ch to lead the children of Israel. God chose Moses, okay? Moses didn't lift himself up. God brought him up. And they rose up before Moses. With a certain of the children of Israel, 2 princes of the assembly, famous in the congregation, men of renown, famous. And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you. Seeing, all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the Lord is among them. Wherefore then, lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the Lord. Why are you lifting yourself up, Moses? Over the congregation. Who made you boss? You know? God made him boss. And when Moses heard it, he fell upon his face. And he spake unto Kor and unto all his company, saying, Even tomorrow the Lord will show who are his. And who is holy, and will cause him to come near unto him. Even him whom he hath chosen will he cause to come near unto him. This do. Take you censors, Kor, and all his company, and put fire therein, and put incense in them before the Lord tomorrow. And it shall be that the man whom the Lord doth choose, he shall be holy. Ye take too much upon you, ye sons of Levi. And Moses said unto Korah, Hear, I pray you, ye sons of Levi. Seemeth it but a small thing unto you, that the God of Israel hath separated you from the congregation of Israel. To bring you near to him, to do the service of the tabernacle of the Lord, and to stand before the congregation to minister unto them. And he hath brought thee near to him, and all the brethren, the sons of Levi, with thee. And seek ye the priesthood also? For which cause both thou and all thy company are gathered together against the Lord. They come against Moses. Moses was elected by God. The Lord elected him. So they're coming against not, they're just murmuring against Moses. Moses is reminding them: hey, you're murmuring against the Lord, not me. And what is Aaron that ye murmur against him? Now Aaron was Moses' brother, who the Lord had set up to be the high priest. And Moses said to call Dath and Abraham, the sons of Eliah, which said, We will not come up. So these two that Moses. Thought was on his side, even backing out to. Oh no, you got too many guys against you. Instead of seeking the Lord and not fearing what man can do unto them. They feared that what the men, the 200 that Kor had gathered together, they was fearing that, in my opinion. It doesn't say that, but that's what I'm thinking. Is it a small thing that thou hast brought us up out of a land that floweth with milk and honey to kill us in the wilderness, except thou make thyself altogether a prince over us? They still murmur. Against Moses. Moreover, thou hast not brought us into a land that floweth with milk and honey. They haven't got there yet. But they're on their way. Or giving us inheritance of fields and vineyards. Wilt thou put out the eyes of these men? We will not come up. And Moses was very wroth, and said unto the Lord, Respect not thou their offering. I have not taken one ass from them, neither have I hurt one of them. Moses hadn't done nothing to none of them. And Moses said unto Cor, Be thou and all thy company. There's the one standing underneath that shade right there. All thy company. Be thou and all thy company before the Lord, thou and they and Aaron tomorrow. And take every man his censure and put incense in them, and bring ye before the Lord every man his censure. 2 centuries. That's a lot of them standing against Moses and Aaron. But see what they didn't know, what they didn't realize, God was on Moses and Aaron's s. God was for them. If God be for us, who can be against us? Who can stand against us? And they took every man his censer and put fire in them and laid incense thereon and stood at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. With Moses and Aaron. And Korah gathered all the congregation against them unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And the glory of the Lord appeared unto all the congregation. I could imagine what Cora and them were thinking. Oh, they saw the brightness shining of the Lord before all of them. And the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment. The Bible says, Come out from among them, be ye severed. And they fell upon their faces and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh. Shall one man sin? And wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation? And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the congregation, saying, Get you up from about the tabernacle of Cor. Dath and Aboram. Get away from them. And Moses rose up and went unto Dath and Aboram, and the elders of Israel followed him. And he spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest ye be consumed in all their sins. So they gathered up from the tabernacle of Korah, Dath and Aboram, on every side. And Dath and Aboram came out and stood in the door of their Tents and their wives and their sons and their little children. And Moses said, Hereby ye shall know that the Lord has sent me to do all these works, for I have not done them of mine own. If these men die the common death of all men, if they live long enough to die from old age. Or if they be visited after the visitation of all men, then the Lord hath not sent me. But if the Lord make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up. with all that appertaining to them, everything. All the people that followed them, all of their belongings, all of their family. Everything that appertains to these murmurs, these complainers, the ones that stood up against Moses, the ones that God, the one that God put in charge. They wanted to stand up against Moses. They were standing up against God Then you shall understand Oh, and they go down quick into the pit. Then you shall understand that these men have provoked the Lord. And it came to pass as he had made an end of speaking all these words. That the ground claved asunder that was under them. And the earth opened her mouth and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Kor, and all their goods. They and all that app to them went down alive into the pit. And the earth closed upon them, and they perished from among the congregation. And all Israel that were round about them fled at the cry of them, for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up also. And there came out a fire from the Lord and consumed the 2 men that offered incense. And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest. That he take up the censors out of the burning and scatter they out of fire yonder, for they are hallowed. The censors of these sinners against their own souls are almost there, folks. Let them make their broad plates for a covering of the altar, for they offered them before the Lord. Therefore they are hallowed, and they shall be a sign unto the children of Israel. Look at this. This is what not to do. This should be a reminder. And Eleazar the priest took the brazen centers. Wherewith they that were burnt had offered, and they were made broad plates for a covering of the altar. I find that pretty neat. They did what God told them to do. To be a memorial to the children of Israel, that no stranger, which is not of the seed of Aaron, come near to offer incense before the Lord, that he be not as quarrel. And as his company, as the Lord said to him by the hand of Moses. But on the morrow, all the congregation of the children of Israel murmured. Against Moses and against Aaron, saying, Here we go again, they murmur again, ye have killed the people of the Lord. So now they're blaming Moses and Aaron for killing Korah. And all the people that followed him. And it came to pass when the congregation was gathered against Moses and against Aaron that they looked toward the tabernacle of the congregation, and behold, the cloud covered it. And the glory of the Lord appeared. God's not having all that. And Moses and Aaron came before the tabernacle of the congregation. And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, get you up from among this congregation, that I may consume them as in a moment. And they fell upon their faces. And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a censer, and put fire therein from off the altar, and put on incense, and go quickly. Unto the congregation, and make an atonement for them. For there is wrath gone out from the Lord, the plague is begun. And Aaron took as Moses commanded. And he ran into the midst of the congregation, and behold, the plague was begun among the people. And he put on incense and made an atonement for the people. And he stood between the dead and the living, and the plague was stayed. Now they that died in the plague were,, besides them that died about the matter of Kor. And Aaron returned unto Moses unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the plague was stayed. Now, what I want you to see there at the end of that, folks, and I know it was a lot. They came against Moses and Aaron. Korah and his followers went to the pit. After this, the people of Israel saw this. They come back the next day and murmured again against Moses and Aaron. Moses and Aaron. Came back to God and plead. They were a go-between between God and the children of Israel that were fixing to get slaughtered. Moses was a go-b. Jesus Christ is your go-between between God And ended up in that pit that Cor ended up in, and his followers. False teachers. Want you to follow them. They are pointing you to the pit, folks. They are not pointing you to the go-between They're pointing you to the pit. When Jesus went to the cross to die for our sins, Isaiah 53: says, He was oppressed. Talking about Jesus. The word oppressed means to drive, similar to how cows and other animals are herded. And made to move to a certain location. We herd cows to put them where we want them, or other animals, that's why we herd them. We drive them to where we want them to go, to a corral. Or somewhere else. If we're putting them on the trailer, they go where we'll take them to better word. Jesus was herded to the cross, he was drove to the cross. But unlike an animal being herded to a distinction or to a destiny they know not, the animals don't know where you're herding them to. Jesus knew where he was going, where he was being taken. He was oppressed and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth. He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shear is dumb, so he opened not his mouth. Jes Christ did not complain or murmur against God, even when he faced the death of the cross. He died for all of us who have complained and murmured so that we will not be convicted of complaining and murmuring. The ungodly do not believe in Christ. Therefore they will be convicted. Heavenly Father, we thank you so much, Lord, for your precious word, Father. Thank you, Lord, for those who have come to hear it, Lord. And I pray, God, that I. Your word, through your word today, they were pointed to you, Father, that they were pointing to Jesus, Lord. And we want to pray, Lord, if anybody's here, Lord, that doesn't know Christ as their Savior, Father. They have not seen Christ on that cross dying for their sins, Lord, in order that they may be forgiven, Father. We pray, Lord, that you would draw them to the cross, Lord. Show them Christ, Lord. Show them that there's forgiveness through the cross, Lord. Lord, we thank you so much, Lord, and we just. Don't want to complain, and we don't murmur, Lord. And we're so thankful for Jesus Christ dying for our complaining and our murmuring, Lord. We thank you, Lord. We love you so much, Father. We want to pray for our brother Larry, Lord, who's under the weather, Father. We just pray for his health issues, Lord, that your will be done in his healing. We pray for each and every person here today that's in the need of having health issues, Lord. We pray, Lord, for your healing in those matters as well, Father. We pray for those that don't know Christ, Lord. We pray, Lord, you would show them Christ, Lord. Lord, we want to pray for the caregivers that are here, Father. We pray, Lord, that they would take care of these people here, Lord, like you want them to be taken care of, Father. We thank you and we love you so much, Father, and we thank you so much for those that come to hear your word. We thank you for this lesson that you've blessed us with, Lord, to share, Father. And Lord, we just. Lord, our blessings are just so wonderful, Lord, and overwhelming, Lord. There's just so many, Father. We can't count all of them, Lord. But we sure thank you for each and every one of them you bless us with, Father. Thank you for all that you do, Lord, for all you do is good, Father. And we love you, and we ask these things of Jesus Christ today, Lord. Amen.
