Alright, good afternoon everybody. Good afternoon. Comes in or want to go out. You're looking to go get a Bible. Oh, okay. I think I got it fixed where you can open it from the outside now, Larry. There you go, thank you. Alright. All right, good afternoon everybody one more time. I've got to say that until we get started. It's on my notes, so I've got to repeat that. All right, folks, I'm going to tell you I'm having more fun at this point in my life than I can ever imagine having. My wife and I are more closer than we ever have been. I'm closer to the Lord than I ever have been, and I believe that that is. The reason why I'm having so much fun. I get to share God's word and I can't tell you I don't never want to stop doing that. I enjoy it so much. And for y'all to come and hear God's word is just encouraging to me to keep continuing to do it. And I shall thank y'all so much for coming to hear God's word. I just, I pray that the saints are edified by it, and I pray that the lost are pointed to Jesus. That's what I want to do. With the rest of my life, I point people to Christ as their Savior. So I'm going to continue to do that, and as long as God will let me. So, with that said, last week. We made it through verse 16 as we studied. There we go. I was trying to give her time to get back in. There we go. Yeah, all right. Let's see. We're going to start over again here. Last week we made it through verse 16 as we study verse by verse in the book of Jude. I hope you have read some of God's word this past week. And I hope you are really looking forward to reading some more this week coming up As I was writing this, the thought came to me that maybe some of you have a hard time reading because of your eyesight. I know my eyesight is not as good as it once was. And that is a good reminder to me That these fleshly bodies that our souls live in are corrupt and flawed by sin. and that eventually these fleshly bodies will return back to the dust from which they came. And my spirit shall be freed from this corrupt flesh from which it is housed. And I will no longer have to wear these glasses or squint when I read. I want to remind you that you are a spirit, folks You have a body. You are a spirit. You have a body. And when this body lays down for the last time. You need to think about where your spirit's going to live for eternity. Amen. Amen. 1 Corinthians 15, 44 says, It is sown a natural body. It is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body and there is a spiritual body. If you are having a difficult time reading God's Word, here is a wonderful way for you to share God's Word with someone else. When one of the caregivers or just someone who comes to visit comes into your room, ask them to read to you some of God's word. That way, not only are you sharing God's word with someone else, they are sharing his word with you as well. And I know for a fact that God can use that for greater things in your life now and your life to come after this One. Give it a try and watch God work through you and in you. It will bring you great joy and peace. It does for me. and it will for you too. Try it and see what happens. Just give it a try. Now let's get back to our study in June. As we have been making our way through the book of Jude, Jude has been wanting us to remember. He has been pointing us back to God's word all throughout our study. And that is what any preacher of God's word should do. A preacher of God's word needs to point you to what God says by reminding you of God's words And Jude says here, as we look at verse 17 in the book of Jude. So we're going to pick up here in the verse 17 in the book of Jude today. Jude says, but beloved. Remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. Let's pray. Heavenly Father, we thank you so much, Lord, for your precious word. We thank you for Jesus, Father, and we thank you for your Holy Spirit, Lord. Lord, we just pray that you would just let your spirit teach us here today, Father. And we pray that every ear that is here today or watching on the internet, Lord, will be attentive to your words, Father. Lord, we pray that the lost are pointed to you today and that the saints are fed your word today, Lord. We thank you so much for all that you do, Father, for all you do is good, Lord. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Amen. All right. So now Jude says here in verse 17, but beloved, remember. Jude has used the word beloved once before in Jude verse 3 where he says For I rejoice, oh, I'm sorry, verse 3 of you, beloved, or beloved, however you want to say it. When I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you and exhort you. That ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. And he uses the word beloved again in verse 20. We're going to jump ahead just a little bit and read this. But ye beloved Building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost. Now the word beloved interpreted here comes from the Greek word agapetos. Agapetos And means dearly or well. It is derived from another Greek word that means to love Now we could continue on because that word is derived from another Greek word. But what I want you to do is look at the word beloved. And separate the B E from the L O V E D, from that part, for just a moment, and say those words separately Be loved. Be loved. Wow. Do you realize that you are loved by God, folks? And if you know that, then you know God because you know the love of God through belief in the death of God's Son for your sins. Amen. Let's look at 1 John chapter 4. 1 John chapter 4. And I've got everybody marked up, I believe. 1 John chapter 4. Can you find it, man? You got it already? Oh, look at you go. Good, good. 1 John chapter 4. That's so cool though there. Good, good. 1 John chapter 4. We're going to start reading there. Now we're going to start at the first verse because I had a dear, sweet lady ask me a question. And I hope this will help to not only answer her question, but show you through God's word why you are be loved. God and why God is beloved of you I was presented the statement slash question from this precious lady as this She said, there are so many different preachers who are teaching different things. How do I know which one to believe? What a great question. And I know she is not the only person who has ever thought that. So let's look here in 1 John chapter 4 and let's start here in verse 1. verse 1. He says, what's that first word? Beloved. Beloved. Believe not every spirit. But try the spirits whether they are of God Because many false prophets are gone out into the world the theme of Jude is talking about False prophets. The word try means to test. To test. When you were in school and the teacher wanted to see how much you had learned about what they were trying to teach you, what would they do? They give you a test, that's right. They give you a test. That is why it is so important for you to read God's Word, folks. Not just because I encourage you to do so, but because of false teachers who tell you things that are not true. And you need to be able to discern the truth from a lie. You need to test or try what they are saying. Is what they are saying in God's Word? Does what they say mean what God is intending for truth? Are they pointing you to Jesus Christ as the way, the truth, and the life? And that no man comes unto the Father but by Him? Are they pointing you to that? Verse John 4. 2, hereby know ye the Spirit of God, every spirit that confesseth That Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God. An unbeliever is not going to tell you that. And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God. And this is that spirit of Antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come, and even now already is it in the world. Anti- means one who opposes. And anti-Christ means one who opposes Christ. And anybody who is telling you that there are other ways to be forgiven of your sins by our Creator Other than by faith in the death of God's beloved Son is an Antichrist and a false teacher, and they are not of God. Cut and dried, period. That's right. That's it. 1 John 4, 4 says, Ye are of God, little children. Why? Because you put your faith in Jesus Christ. Ye are of God. Little children he calls us. Abba Father. And have overcome them because greater is he that is in you. Then he that is in the Lord. Amen. That's right, brother. That is right. Exactly. They are of the world. Therefore they speak they of the world. And the world heareth them. Jesus said, My sheep knoweth me, and I know it isn't. Jesus said, My sheep, hear my voice. and they know how that go and they hearken to no other and yeah something to that effect yeah my sheep know my voice and they hear me or i i can't remember Boy, I wish I could. I'll be glad someday. You know, when this old spirit leaves this body and I go be with the Lord, all that's going to be right on me. I won't have to recall it with my. Noodle what's left of it. I'll have it already in my heart. God will put that on me and I will know. And I want to know him so much. Oh, I want to know God's word so much. My sheep hear my voice and I know. them and they follow me. That's exactly what I that's that's exactly what I was trying to say. That's it, exactly. Thank you for looking at it. I appreciate that. Thank you very much. My sheep, you're my boy. That's right. That's the verse I was trying to think of right there. We are of God. He that knoweth God heareth us. He that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error. That's how you know if they are from God or if they are false teachers. I hope that helps to answer the question that I was asked. I hope it does. And I wish that dear lady was in here today But I know that somebody else watching, maybe, or somebody else in this room, would have had the same question. So I hope that helps to answer the question Now let's continue here in 1 John and look at some verses about God's love for us. Be loved. Be loved. Be loved. Yeah, be loved. I love that. 1 John 4, 7. Beloved. Here we go again. Be loved, he says. Beloved, let us love one another for love is of God. And everyone that loveth is born of God and knoweth God. And knoweth God. I love that. He that loveth not. Knoweth not God, for God is love. A false teacher does not know God, folks. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world that we might live through him. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him shall not perish but have everlasting life. I'm glad she didn't have to look that one up for me. Hello, Miss Mary. I mean, Miss Works. Boy, I'm off today. Too many cars for lunch, I guess. Here it is love, not that we love God, but that he loved us. And sent his son to be the propitiation for our sins. Amen. There we go again. Beloved. If God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us. Because he hath given us of his spirit. That is with a capital S. That is the Holy Spirit of God, host. You put your faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior. You believe. God sends His Spirit to dwell within you. Oh, me. That's just wonderful. I love God's word. Amen. And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love, and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment. Because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love. Folks, when Jesus comes back. When he judges this world and he's judging you, you put your faith in the judge right there. Well, he's looking at you. But I believed you, Lord. There's no fear. There's no fear of condemnation right there. None. What is there to be afraid of? Nothing. Nothing, that's right. Amen. Nothing to be afraid of. Now, for those who don't believe, I can see why they'd be afraid. There's condemnation. In that gap, guilty. There is no fear and love But perfect love casteth out fear, because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love him because he first loved us. God loved you so much. He still loves you. God loves you so much that he gave his precious son to pay your sin debt. Think about that. Jesus loved you so much. Jesus loves you so much. that he stayed on that cross and he took every agonizing pain and suffering that there was to lay on. That will be laid on the unbelievers when it comes time for that one that hung on that cross to stand behind that judgment seat. Boom! If a man say, I love God and hateth his brother, he is a liar. For he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? Who are the believers, brothers, other believers, beloved? That is your brother and sister in Christ, believers. And this commandment have we from him: that he who loveth God He who loveth God love his brother also. Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God. And everyone that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. By this we know that we love the children of God. When we love God and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments, and his commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world. And this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Folks, it's impossible to keep every one of God's commandments. But there is one who did. His name is Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God. He kept every commandment. That God ever laid down. It is impossible for you to keep all the commandments. Impossible. If you think that you can, I want to shake your hand because I want to meet somebody that's perfect other than Jesus Christ. We are not perfect. If we were perfect, why would God have to send his only begotten Son to die for us? We're not perfect. The only one that kept all of God's commandments was Jesus Christ. By faith. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world, and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Our faith in Christ, in the one who did keep all the commandments. Our faith. What saves us world. Who is he that overcometh the world? But he that believeth Jesus is the Son of God. Amen. Unbelieving. False teachers are not going to tell you that. They won't tell you that. Think about that, folks. The next time you're watching one of those fancy preacher guys on TV that keeps pointing to your pocketbook I got some holy water I stuck in an envelope here and for $19. 95 I'll send it to you and you can be saved. Yeah, I laugh at that too. I saw that the other day. I was watching something and some guy come on there trying to folks I'd like to know where he got holy water to begin with. And another thing, it's not faith in holy water that saves you, it's faith in Christ. It's not your works that save you. If you're believing in your works, then you're not believing in the works of Christ. That's right. It's not both. You can't have it both ways. That's right. You either believe in one or the other. And I'm going to stand here. And I'm going to tell you, it's faith in Jesus Christ that saves you. No other way. No other way. Heavenly Father, we thank you so much, Lord, for this wonderful time that you've blessed us with, Lord. Come together, Lord, and share in your word, Father. What a blessing your word is, Father. And I pray that each and every person here will just open up your word and read, Lord, and marinate on it, Lord, and let it soak in, Lord. Oh, I just pray for those who don't read their Bible, Lord. I pray for those who just put it up on a coffee table somewhere, on an inn table, and just let it sit and gather dust, Lord. They're missing out on so much, Father. Lord, this life is way too short, Father, to not be reading your word and learning of what's coming up, Father Help us all to be prepared, Lord, and I know that we're prepared through faith in Christ, Father. I pray, Lord, that Jesus would. Glorified here today, Lord. You are glorified here today, Lord, and your Spirit and your word were taught here today, Lord. I just thank you so much, Lord, for all that you do, Father. We want to pray for those who are sick, Lord. We want to pray for Camera Lady Jr. , Lord, who's recovering, Father. And we just pray, Lord, that you'll continue to help her heal, Lord. We pray your will be done there. We want to pray for each and every person. That is here, Father. Those who are bedridden, Lord, can't get out of bed, Father. We pray, Lord, that they will just Look at your word, Lord, and get into your word for those who don't know Christ, Lord, before it's too late, Lord. Lord, there's no other comfort than your word and knowing Jesus Christ as their Savior, Father. And we just pray for those who don't know Christ, Lord. Thank you so much for all you do, Lord. For all you do is good, Lord. And we want to pray for the caregivers here, Lord. Pray that they will care for these people, Lord, like you want them to be cared for. Father, we thank you and we love you and we just thank you so much, Lord. What a blessing, Father, it is to have people come and hear your word and sing and fellowship and joy to you, Lord. Praise you, God. We praise your name, Lord. We love you so much. And in Jesus' name we pray, amen.
